Project: Lian Li PC7²

Case is all done for the time being.

Here are some pics.

More pics to come once i start the build.

Big thanks to Tom at *a competitor* for making all this possible and everything he has done so far and for everything that is still to come with this build. You're a star mate :)

More updates soon.

Yesterday------------------>

Put everything air cooled into the case.

Today------------------->

Decided to put together a loop for the CPU.

Ek block on board.

Now dought I will re-route all the tubing once I do the second loop.

Wow its amazing how much room there is in a PC7 when you have two bolted together :) I have very little room in mine.

How the 9800GTX was cheap, cuz I can't see why anyone would want one otherwise... and aren't they meant to be the noisest GFX solution while idling? >> you going to watercool that somehow aswell?

Graphics card will be watercooled.

Thats what the PA120.3 rad is for. :)

That case is extremely nice. Could you send me a quick email with details on where you had it done? cartwrightmachine (at) hotmail.com

Awesome if you can! Great looking project. Will be watching this :)

Excellent work!

Im glad you chose the EK Supreme block, the acrylic looks so much better than my black acetal!

Keep up the good work

Gpu cooler off.

Leak testing. (Dont mind the cables and what nots :) )

I'm new to water cooling, I just have a few questions. Do you fit the cooling blocks, radiator, resesvoir, and pipes all together then let the water cooling system leak test for 24hrs? Then, once you're happy, fit the GPU and CPU block on top of the chips whilst the blocks themselves still have the pipes coming out of it?
I'm a bit confused to the water leak test.

Great thread and great effort. Looks mint so far! :)

Edit: Ignore my question, I can see you're leak testing it with the blocks on the chips themselves.

Edit: Another different question. How much more quieter is water cooling? I'll be doing my next system in Sept and i'm just looking into things at the moment.

Yes you could do that.

Say you have a removable mobo tray.. fit all you watercooling into case into right positions, leak test for how ever long and then slide in the mobo tray with everything on and connect it all up.

I on the other hand for the graphics loop i did today wacked it all together, leak tested it for around an hour and a half and just fired it up.

Im using 7/16 ID tubing with 1/2 barbs so its quite hard for the tubing to just slide off. The pump and gpu block barbs for example where right ******* to get the tubing on. I couldnt get the tubing off if I tried.

'Cos you should be using non conductive coolant if you did have the blocks on CPU or what ever when you where leak testing and it did leak from the block and went on your mobo or what ever then it shoudnt be a problem as it wouldnt be on at the time. Just take it out clear it up and leave it to dry, and then test to see if its ok. Alsong as you dont power something up when it wet it should be fine after its dried.

I dropped one of my CPU in my fish tank once, dried it off and tested it within 10 mins of dropping it in and it was fine. :)

Thanks for the advice! I'm a bit wary of demolishing the GPU to fit a block on! Wouldn't it void the warranty? Or is that catch part of water cooling?
Oh, and once again I think you missed it! :p Is water cooling much quieter than a normal cooled system? I've read people having nightmares about whiney fans in the pumps, and "fluidic" sounds! :p
