Hey, i saw these on the site and might just pick one up. My only question though, is if this will be able to cool both an E8500 (OC'ed to around 3.8 - 3.9) AND a 9800 GX2 with decent temps? I'm using the stock cooler at the min and would quite like to try out a watercooled setup for overclocking/educational purposes. I don't know much about watercooling, so if this isn't suffice could you recommend some better bits i could get individually? Max budget is maybe £180.

Any advice is much appreciated,
Dc.

CLAIMED!
Welcome to the forums

well, to be perfectly honest the best thing would be to research watercooling and how it works, because that kit, or most kits, provide little benefit over air cooling. The best is to assemble your own kit. for £180 you'd be pushing it to cool both cpu and gpu, but it's possible

Thanks :)

Well i was concidering to buy the waterblock a little later on after i have saved up a little. I wouldn't really mind it that much if cpu is all that i am limited too, just as long as i have an increase of OC'ability over stock :P

Don't buy the thermaltake kit - they're awful. You'd do better with high end air cooling, and for less money. If you want to go the watercooling root then do a bit of reading. How much space do you have for a radiator in your case (what case do you have?), and will it go internally or externally? You'd be best off going for better quality gear than thermaltake stuff - it really is awful.

Hehe, i see. Well i am using an iCute Jet Turbine case (it's a sturdy case, really) from what i understand i think an internal radiator would fit alright, though i have nothing against external.

I shall read up like you've said, thanks for the replies :)

well if it has a fan at the back of the case, then you can use a radbox, and mount your rad at the back

Definately dont go for the thermaltake, as above read up on the subject, try and find people who have fitted watercooling in your case (i might be ignorant here but havent heard of that one before!) and work out what will fit and where (rads come in different thickness and sizes even though they fit 1,2,3 fans etc)

For £180 you could definately get something good

Not to put your suggestions aside, but how are your opinions on the "XSPC X2O Delta V3" kit? Sadly it isn't sold by overclockers, but from what i have read it seems to be brilliant value for money and gotten excellent reviews. My only concern would be how to fit it in my case, but is this a good bundle for me to look at?

EDIT: To tell a lie, it IS sold by overclockers. Here.

I use the XSPC Delta V3 kit, it was me who wrote the review of it :D

The kit is awesome, ive upgraded my Rad from the 120mm one to the XSPC 240mm rad as 1.5Vcore is a lot of heat for a single 120mm to deal with :)

A side note though, the kit does not come with any anti-corosive additive as XSPC stopeed supplying it with V3 of this kit :(

Ah i see :P

To be honest i don't know what i am looking for, these kits just seem so easy! I'd rather it be cheaper than dearer if you know what i mean.

Could i be forgiven for buying one of these? What is the real difference in components that would allow me to use both my cpu and gpu? Just for the knoledge.

Also, did i just hear 1.5 volt? Are you nuts!?

Its an AMD 5600+ X2 running at 3.5ghz though :p:p

Id go for the kit, its easy, simple and fun!!! a lot of people told me not to bother with kits as there crap, i bit the bullitt anyway and even to this day i still dont regret it!!!! And out of all the kits the XSPC one is the best one, aswel as the cheapest :)

Heres a couple of pics of it when i very first installed it....

XSPC Kit £73 including VAT and delivery
XSPC 240mm Rad £30 Including VAT and delivery
Feser One fluid £11 Including delivery

Total £114

Sell the Old 120mm radiator on Ebay, i got £16 including delivery :)

New Total £98 :D

Its not worth Cooling the GX2 IMO, you pay £100 for the cooling block alone and you wont get £100 worth of extra performance, you would be better off selling the GX2 and putting that £100 you saved from not buying the cooling block for it together with the money from the GX2 sale and get a better card/Cards :)

Haha not a bad idea, cheers!

Right guys, seems the place i got it from had a problem with the order that they hadn't told me about, despite numberus phone calls and emails, leaving me waiting for a month. Looks like i'll have to get building my own.

Good news though, is that it's been payday since and i've gotten myself a GX2 block :D. Here is what i am thinking of so far:

XSPC Dual 750 Bay Reservoir & Pump
XSPC RS240 120mm Radiator
OCZ HydroFlow HF-MK1 CPU Waterblock
Feser One UV Reactive Coolant x2

As for the fittings and tubing, i really am confused about sizes but i will need about 2 metres of it, as i want to have the radiator mounted on the outside/back of my case.

If anyone can enlighten me as to what kind of tubing fits what kind of barb blabla, please do :P It's driving me nuts trying to figure it out haha.

You'll need a bigger radiator than that to deal with the heat the GX2 pumps out. I'd say 120.3?

That Acid Green coolant is awesome, it glows like a beehatch, but make sure you've got some UV cathodes if you want it to glow.

Buy 3 metres of tubing to be safe - get 7/16'' with 1/2'' barbs. Use boiling water to loosen the ends of the tubing, and slip 'em over the barbs. That makes a darn tight fit. Buy jubilee clips if you want to be 100% sure of no leaks.
