Hey and sorry for the confusion.

I originally was just going to get the cheapest card, mobo and case.
But the O/C bug has hit me again!

Here are the parts I'm looking for.

Motherboard - I have narrowed it down to a few motherboards. One, Two and three. Of if you could suggest anything else? TBH i would love to go DDR3 and get a matching mobo but the prices are a bit high... And the blackops doesn't play nice with OCZ DDR3 memory

RAM ATM i own 4GB of DDR2 Tracer memory (800MHz CL4)
If i was to keep this. I would like to get it down to CL3 if at all possible.

PSU Need something quiet and able to power and overclocked quad and support future upgrades. I was thinking the be quiet 650W?

GFX CARD I have my heart set on the xFx 4870 xXx 1GB edition

CASE Silverstone Fortress was what I had in mind...

SOUND CARD I know nothing about sound cards... so a little help would be much appreciated! :D I like the look of the asus sonar. But i know looks are nothing lol

*parts i currently own*
Q6600
RAM (listed above)
Hard Disk
1680x1050 monitor

USES Overclocking, Gaming, Programming, Level Design, Word processing and listening to some music through headphones

Thanks all :)

If you want overclock that Q6600, then the biostar is a fanastic overclocker. Of course you'll need something to cool that CPU, that's where the Coolermaster V8 comes in. The Asus Xonar range are very good sound cards, more geared towards music, but still very good in games as well.

Hey Icey Haj and thanks.

Holy crap thats cpu cooler is bigger than my face... lol :D

So the 650W will be more than enough?

You suggested the sapphire card. But the xFx one is slightly more expensive and higher clocked no?

Thanks so much for the reply. *legend*

lol true but surely i'll have to use software to do that?

Im just not so keen on software OC'ing. *bad experience with an old 9800GTX*

I think the Sapphire has a better cooler as well. I would definitely go for that.
No point paying £18 more for a few more frames extra performance.

There's plenty of people on this forum willing to help you overclock. :)

Ok one last thing :)

Headphone for the sound card.
I have is Sennheiser CX300-B Earbuds, which do fine for music. But if im splashing out on a sound card... well

Any suggestions?
