stripped out dell xps 420

ive already use the pin mod to up the fsb from 1066 to 1333 which takes my q6600 from 2.4 to 3ghz but this is still on stock voltage! when i play gta4 because the game uses a lot of the cpu it blue screens due to a lack of power! so ive been reading up on how to alter your vcore through pin modding! hey presto youve oc'd your non oc'able dell!

i added a zlman cooler to my 8800gt graphics card to which makes a mega difference to temperatures and noise because the stock cooler was a waste of time!!!

this works for q6600 for sure! wouldnt try it on any other chip!

Sorry to recover an old thread, found it through a Google search.

I also (regrettably) I may add, purchase a Dell XPS 420, but have also built a new system in the last few months.

I also made a few modifications to the dell to make it into something I should have built, and to be far its actually a decent machine.

Upgraded to 4gig of Corsair XMS2 ram, Nvidia GTX 260 which I has been able to OC to 800mhz shader. Removed the shroud as the user above has, 2 Antec 120mm case fans (one in the side panel and one as an exhaust fan. Also used the pin mod to O'C the processor from 2.4ghz to 3.2ghz (Q6600)
