*Wrong Title* i actually need help overclocking

well, ive been reading on overclocking some more, and i get most of it, but i cant seem to get my 920 past 3.4ghz [specs in sig]
im going by - http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20081220191040237&board_id=1&model=P6T+Deluxe&SLanguage=en-us&page=1 - and some things dont show up on the bios (i think)

im just slightly confused by the voltages, dram frequency and the uclk frequency
do i change the CPU voltage or the CPU PLL voltage? whats safe?

Thanks!
and sorry for another post like this again

Look at the stickies in this sub-forum on overclocking, that should give you a good idea of CPU voltage, RAM frequencies etc.

The i7 is a different beast from previous CPU's, and so not all the information applies here, but the OcUK experts who've tried and tested the overclocks on many i7's may be able to help you out.

Could try posting in here to get their attention. I'm sure plenty of other i7 owners can point out the differences and suggest what voltages are safe etc.

Also it's generally regarded that AUTO voltages are not your friend. Asus boards often have a tendency to massively overvolt things when overclocked, so manually set what you can. Also set the RAM timings to exactly what they are rated to avoid any other problems too.

BCLK frequency - Base Clock frequency. Basically, this x your multiplier = your clock speed. Increase this to overclock your CPU.

DRAM frequency - This is your RAM speed. Since you have Dominator 1600 RAM, making this DDR3-1600 will make it the most stable.

CPU voltage - Maximum should be no higher than 1.45v I believe, but really you should keep it at 1.35v or below to avoid high temps. Mine is at 4GHz at 1.2v, but it's a D0 stepping. If yours is C0 stepping you might need slightly higher.

CPU PLL voltage - Not sure how this affects it, but I put mine one notch above my CPU voltage.

DRAM voltage - Set it to whatever is recommended for your RAM. Corsair DDR3-1600 dominator is rated at 1.6-1.65v, so set it there. I read somewhere you should avoid having your CPU and DRAM voltage more than 0.5v apart with i7, as the memory controller is on the CPU, but that shouldn't be a problem.

The rest can be kept to auto, or at least, mine is.

Also, with the Ai Overclock Tuner, you should be able to set it to XMP with your RAM. This means you shouldn't have to adjust timings, and you can leave DRAM frequency on auto.

I don't know if this is all correct, but it works perfectly fine for me, memtest and prime stable, and I've not had a single BSOD yet.

quick question, the DRAM frequency changes whenever I change the BCLK ferquency, should i chose the one closest to 1600?
becuse whenever i do my pc never boots :/
im having problems at 3.3ghz as well..

overclocked it to 3.3ghz, does this seem ok?
not too sure about the memory though

if mods could change the title to something else, that would be great :)

wont let me get to 21, 20 is the max for me

i tried 19, but crashed with prime95 as soon as i started it, seems most stable with 20 so far

any ideas
