Hi guys. About a week ago i made this thread

And i said on the wednesday of the 25th of august id post the results... where here they are :D Im pretty suprised at the top three!

Just a side note. I only counted the votes that were made before 12pm on the 25th. I also didnt count some of the votes as i felt they were a bit vage for e.g ones like "the whole wwf games" "any game after street fighter 2" I also didnt count any games that wernt on the PC and people who were just slagging off games rather than keeping to the orinal post. SO here are the results!

That must have taken yonks -- thanks for the huge effort, very interesting reading.

It's also correctly a 'biggest let down' rather than a 'worst game' list .. which is interesting as publicity/concept/what it could have been/and predecessors play a major part ..

There are some VERY FINE GAMES that have a single vote against. Guess everything is hated by someone!!

I agree! a lot of ppl on the thread were making it more into a "games they hate" i tryed cutting those votes out (thats why it took 2 and a half hours) lol
I know what u mean. When i was reading though i nearly had a heartb attack when i kept seeing oblivion come up! How can you hate a game like oblivion :O and populas the begining! One of my fave games of ALL time.
 
Again i'm surprised Spore and Farcry 2 received so many votes, it was obvious they were going to be naff before they were even released.
 
cheers I m suprsied that games that are flops didn't get more APB for eample unless know one bought it :P

farcry 2 didn't suprsie me at all
 
The only game I was really hyped up for was Age of Conan... Never again will I be so hyped for a game. I don't know what possessed me.

I think where APB looked crappy before hand every one knew not to epect much from it. Spores and farcry were made out to be amazing (unless u took the time to read through priviews/reviews and videos on youtube) :( Like ya say tho..farcry2... lol spores was well in the lead untill the last two pages when farcry 2 came right into second (into first at one point)

I was going too do top 3 originaly, then it went to top 5 then to top 10..then thought..AHHH **** it ill just do them all. Some one may have wanted to see where there vote came in :)
 
Spore was awful. Zero playability for a game marketed to be a "universe simulator".

How the devs sat playing that in the office before release and didn't decide to either can or fix it is beyond me.

Oh no, wait - EA game. Got it.

Far Cry 2 looked amazing when it came out, you could tell a lot of detail and work went into the engine and certain elements in the game, but the actual game play was shocking, it likes they have a awesome team working on the engine and a bunch of morons doing the story, massive let down.

As for Dragon Rising don't get me started on that :P

isn't it spore ? yeah you're probably right it doesnt deserve its name spelt right if its let that many down :p

surprised to see supcom 2 only at 37 but dragon rising deserves its number 3 spot...cant believe i got gifted that piece of crap and now i cant get it off my steam list.
 
Great effort mate!

I don't think I voted but I certainly can't argue about the top 3, was very disappointed when Spore came out and Far Cry 2 was just too repetitive..
 
Based on the list, you can quickly work out that rushed unfinished products do not sell. Also products where too much boardroom influence also affect the quality of the game.
Finally, you can also see alist of games which have become essential purchase games today, thanks to the modification communities - Stalker, Empire:TW , etc.
Just goes to show that we the gaming fans know what we are talking about!
 
Yes, doesn't surprise me that "Spore" is on there. Will never trust the hype after that game. Still, my girlfriend enjoys it and I did lose a few hours to it. Just not what we were all hoping for. Far Cry 2 was very sucky too.
