Hi guys, with the release of GT5 just round the corner I would like to know whether any of you know which stand I should get for my G27 I don't want to spend a fortune but need something is adjustable and can be foldd up neatly for when its not being used. Also having the ability to have the gear shifter on the left would be good too as I'm not american :D

Thanks in advance

Yer I had been looking at that!

Can I mount the gearstick on the left with that?

Does the gearstick separate off? Every time i see a wheel like this the only thing that puts me off is the stick being on the right if that can be changed i may get one asap for gt5.

The G25 and G27 are 3 seprate parts, pedals, gearshifter and wheel.

Yup, the platform for the gear stick is a separate piece that you can attach on either side.

Saying that - there's now contradictory information on their website.

If you go here (http://www.wheelstandpro.com/order.html) there is:

- Stand for Logitech wheels * = £ 89 with shipment.
- Stand for Microsoft wireless racing wheel for XBOX 360 = £ 95 with shipment.
- Stand for Logitech G25 = £ 99 with shipment.

But when you click on order and go here (http://www.wheelstandpro.com/unitedkingdom.html) there is:

- Stand for Logitech wheel = £ 89 with shipment.
- Stand for Microsoft wireless racing wheel for XBOX 360 = £ 95 with shipment.
- Stand for Logitech G25 = £ 99 with shipment.
- Stand for Logitech G27 = £ 107 with shipment.
- Stand for Logitech wheel plus XBOX extension = £ 109 with shipment.
- Stand for Logitech G25 plus XBOX extension = £ 119 with shipment.

My confusion is with the separation of the G25 and G27 stands as I was under the impression they were identical apart from a few extra buttons, changes to the gearing in the wheel for better FFB and the removal of the gear sticks "tiptronic" functionality.

There is, as far as I understand, no change to the build of the wheel so there shouldn't be any change to the position of holes for mounting etc.

Saying that, if you have a G27 wheel I can only recommend getting the G27 stand as there must be some sort of difference.

BAH! Again, from the website "G25 stand is compatible with gear shifter on left and right hand side" but doesn't mention the G27 stand specifically.

Get in touch with them if you're interested if no one else can shed any light on the matter :-)

I've ordered the G27 stand, so will let you know if the gear shifter can go either side.

A friend of mine has the G25 stand and says he's checked that he G27 will fit to it. Reading on some forums, apparently the G27 stand is slightly sturdier and maybe heavier, but otherwise identical. For the £8 extra, I thought may as well get the G27 one.

The G27 sounds like it is just a sturdier version of the G25 stand.

Stand for Logitech G27

This model is compatible with the Logitech G27 driving wheel. It is bigger and heavier than the stand used for the Logitech G25.

Features include:
- full metal construction for life-time durability and stability.
- Rubber feet to prevent sliding and protect your floor.
- Quick release mechanism for rapid adjustment.
- Precision build for maximum rigidity and stability
- Additional plate provided to fix gear shifter on either side of the steering wheel.
- 5 cm (2 in) wider and 1,5 kg (3 lb) heavier than the Stand for Logitech G25 wheel.
- Also compatible with Logitech G25 wheel.

My bold.

I'd love to get the G27 and stand, but I'm not sure I'll be able to afford it. :(

thing is,, id like the stand tp be as tough as possible even though i dont have a g27 i have a DF GT?

but i dont need the additional plates that come with it for G27 stuff.

Dan is spot on. The G25 stand does come with the:

"Additional plate provided to fix gear shifter on either side of the steering wheel."

Making the only difference:
"5 cm (2 in) wider and 1,5 kg (3 lb) heavier than the Stand for Logitech G25 wheel."

So yeah, the G27 stand is just "bigger".

IMO there is nothing wrong with the G25 stand, but 2 inches wider would make it a little more stable. Not that the G25 stand is unstable :)

On the verge of buying this -
Can I ask if anyone considered the gamepod GTi stand? Although a little more expensive I just wondered if the design was preferable over the wheelstandpro i.e. the posotion of the wheel/pedals etc.

Also what are peoples experience with the wheelprostands, comfortable/sturdy enough etc? I'll be storing etc after every use.

Cheers, Paul.
