Iphone 4 + Synology diskstation photo sharing

I've just installed the Synology photo viewing app and it works a treat internally using the IP of my diskstation - but it will not connect to the external IP address suggesting this will not work elsewhere. I will try it this afternoon for sure, but does anyone have this and have it working externally?

It will likely be a port forwarding issue on your router. Try the networks forum.
