Very quick question, semi urgent! :D

I'm current building a mITX build (this is only the second pc I've built so I'm a complete novice) and am a bit worried about the lack of space between where my yet to be ordered gpu will be and the heatsink on my scythe shuriken:

As you can see there'll be a 1-2mm gap max. Do you think this is an issue, or should I be ok? If it means anything I wont be overclocking the CPU and I'll be getting a relatively cool gpu :)
Thanks in advance!

Personally, from that pic I don't think theres enough space, as at that height theres usually components on that side of the PCB, unless you're conformable with the heatsink touching them. If it does fit though i'd definitely try to put a strip of non conductive insulation tape along that side of the cpu heat sink. There could possibly be a few mm to gain by angling the card at installation but I don't think you'll get a definite answer as its really touch and go.

I agree with this, definitely place something between the rear of the GPU and the heatsink.

Can you rotate the heatsink 90* and win yourself any more breathing space?

Thanks for the replies :)

Unfortunately it's on the shorter side already (the other two sides have three copper coloured bits that poke out, occupying another 1cm per side).

I'll need to weight up my options- but I may just use the stock cooler for now and flog the shuriken :(

unless your really lucky your going to need a different cooler im afraid :(

is there room for one of the watercooling complete kits in the case, because thats probably your best bet

ta for the replies again :)
yeah single slot wont make a diff as it's the back of the card against the cpu heatsink

unfortunately i don't know nowt about water cooling and i'd guess it's very expensive! think it's just best that i bite the bullet and get a smaller cpu cooler and flog off this one then :( don't know if i trust a bit of foam between a 200 quid odd gpu and a relatively expensive heatsink :D
ta again :)
