HELP!! cpu stuck to cooler

Hey,
Im watercooling my PC today. log in here
At the moment CPU is stuck to its cooler and I cant get it off!!!
any ideas ??

OK, what TIM cleaner do you have? Try a little bit between the CPU cooler and CPU, then work the CPU free by twisting it. You should have really twisted the cooler a little whilst the CPU was still in place to free it. I wouldn't recommend putting it back in unless you 100% know you're not going to damage the pins.

run the computer for 10 mins, heat should loosen the paste.

Hair dryer to heat it up a little :S ? dont know if its recommended but that's how I got most of the tim off my cpu

dont have anything to remove paste except hand towels

(went really good with GPU)

will try to put it in socket again and gently twist...

what about hot water over it...would it loosen it ??

made it!!!
warmed my hands and holded it..while trying to twist it !

+1 to the hot water idea.

Boil the kettle up and add extra table salt/minerals to the mixture.

I wonder if they would be able to check what caused CPU's death hahaha

neeeee, its a old CPU so would need to get new one
