Hello all.

Like the title says I have slow bootups on the ud3h. 15 seconds from hitting the powerswitch to the inevitable beep. After that its only 15 seconds untill im actually in win7. Can anyone give me any hint as to why? Even though I havent overclocked it, cpu-z says im running at 3.8!! (gpu-z says im running PCI 2.0 on slot 1 and PCI 1.1 on slot 2????) I havent changed any settings in the BIOS apart from having the m4 as the first boot drive. Thats it, and that is set to AHCI as thats apparently quicker than RAID.

And can someone give me a good URL for overclocking this board because I cant find any that will do apart from if your using asrock z77 boards, or the youtube vids and they just click away and expect you to know what they're going on about (it's difficult to understand a squeeky voiced yank).

TIA

Can't really help you with your problem, but yes if you don't have a RAID then definitely have it set to AHCI. Also considering the video this is a good tutorial and he goes through the basics and what you need to know about overclocking, he also does it on a gigabyte board which is a bonus!

nice 1. Tis bedtime for me now...nightshift is a proper PITA so i'll be looking at this later.

p.s did ya see the size of the case he is reviewing as well in the list on the right!!!!! Its bigger than me!! LOL WANT WANT WANT or mibbeh the Obsidian 900D when its out

900D NDA lifts soon and then we can show you a great build on these forums.

As for the slow boot in bios disable all controllers and ports you don't use. Also try disconnecting all devices apart from your boo drive and see whats causing the slow down. This is often a USB device being detected or similar.

No problem it's a lengthy video but could be worth watching, I watched it even though I already overclocked my cpu. Yea looks massive but haven't seen the video yet.

Ya know, thats something i've always done..but not on this occasion :o As for USB devices, i've only got my KB and mouse plugged in (QPAD mk-85 and Roccat Kone Pure)
