So tempted to get the Gigabyte Z87X-OC Force Intel Z87 for that price, but would it be wasted in a single card configuration?

You're paying extra for the PLX chip to support up to 4 GPUs and covers any future upgrades you may consider such as another GPU, sound card, PCI Express SSD, Raid controller, etc. Depends on your reason for wanting to choose another 1150 mobo, if your Maximus VI Hero restricting your overclocking then sure grab one.

Note that your CPU is the 4670K, there is no 4760K ;)

I went for one based on my intention to Crossfire my 290X down the road and that it was a decent reduction on RRP. Well, that and the fact that my former mobo was giving me errors with RAM, I had already RMAed it once and didn't want the bother of doing it again.

Hmmm... Reading that back I'm probably not the best to advise on purchasing decisions! I am happy with it though! :P

I've just bought the non-Force version, and while doing research on that, I never found anything that came anywhere near this price on the Force board. Cracking deal if it's what floats your boat.

Dam im always doing that lol :)

No reason for wanting one tbh, other than a change, i dont like the bios screens on the hero, and i have gone right off ASUS products although i have not had any problems with this board, my way of think is to try it, if i dont like it then i can alway sell it and not really lose out on the resale value, and go for a orange and white theme :) im not 100% tbh, do seem like a epic buy tho
