OCUK Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition Tournament

Welcome to the OCUK Street Fighter 4 tournament!
Here the best of the best, and the worst of the worst come together to mash buttons, make bad reads, get exposed and wake up ultras to find the ultimate SSF4 champion!

Format:

Tournament is split into two stages;
The League phase and the Knockout phase.

The league is round robin and everyone plays each other once.
The set is first to five (FT5)
Each game is 3 rounds, 99 seconds.
There is standard character lock, so the winner of a game must stick to the same character, but the loser can switch if they want.
You'll be given 3 points for a win.

In the event of points being equal at the end of the league phase, game difference will be taken into account to decide places.
If game difference is the same, then the head to head results will decide final places.
The top four go through to 'Winners' and next four go through to 'Losers' of the Knockout phase.

The Knockout stage is standard tournament rules.
Again, each set is first to five (FT5)
Grand finals are first to seven (FT7)

The league results will determine seeding in the Knockout stage.
i.e 1st plays 4th, 2nd plays 3rd in 'Winners' and 5th plays 8th, 6th plays 7th in 'Losers'
So league position is important if you want to progress!

The games will be streamed when possible, and replays will be uploaded to twitch.tv

Please post your GFWL as I cannot remember them all off by heart, or may not have you on GFWL just yet.

Before the match, you can have a button and lag check.
If the lag is too much, please reschedule your game for another time.
If that too is laggy, I hope you have your scuba license, as you'll be playing underwater!

Dude this is the first notice of the tournament to OCUK in general, I say leave entries open until end of the week to give others chance to join. Then we get started on the Weekend?

Also use this thread to PM each other to arrange the games.

I suggest you do a live recording of your games that way if there is lag it's picked up rather than recording the replays which doesn't pick up lag.

I see what you mean, I'll be recording my games off camera and uploading to my Youtube channel. I can upload yo twitch too if you like but I'll have to create an account with them.
 
Lets see how this one is first, ideally we don't want a tournament that drags, as everyone loses interest.

Twitch is easy to set up, we use orb to stream, they should have instructions on twitch on how to use it etc
 
Rav how did I end up in this mess? I said last week I was starting to play this again now I discover I'm in an online tournament that's going to be streamed? Think we need to work on our communication skills a bit =P

EDIT - I'll still play, but you're getting scrubby week 1 Sagat and you'll like it.

sadly missed the boat but Ill be up for the next one. Not flexed my SF4 muscles in a while, should be fun. :)

I think the total audience will be about 8 at any one time!

Maybe it's not too late, we've got 11 so far, so maybe can squeeze to 12 if no one objects, but I think that has to be the max, as it might drag.
 
Rav if somebody drops out I have a friend who can step in as well, hopefully it won't come to that. Either way, he'll be up for it next time. This could actually be the start of something good, you could perhaps form an A league and B league out of this similar to Topanga..but you know... without all the monies.
 
We were mainly posting in the console forum, and seeing as everyone has now migrated from Xbox to the pc version, it was only right that we've posted it here.

The majority of people involved have been playing each other for years now on Xbox, this is a kind of reunion for us all.

As I've said before, we need to see how this initial tournament goes, and if runs smoothly, we'll definitely expand and welcome more participants.
 
Let's finalise the line up first, and if anyone can't commit to the tournament, you're more than welcome to enter, though I believe Drunzer has first dibs if we have a drop out.

Do stay tuned though, watch the streams and replays to get hype for the next one!
