**************DISCLAIMER***************
I won these in this and as such a condition of winning was that I'd do a review once recieved - so here we are!
**************Mini disclaimer*************
My case is a decade old Lian-li V2000B and as such it's a NIGHTMARE for cable management (which I'm not very good at either). please do not let the case (or my ineptness) cloud your judgment of these cables.
First up, as delivered:-
Nice sturdy box - pretty hefty in weight!
Box has an outer sleeve.
On opening the box the cables are ina cute little bag.
And the cables are in indidual platic bags.
More cables that you'll possibly need for a build.
Next on the the installation:-
Nasty, flat, super stiff Corsair original cables. Wasn't lying about the Lian-Li being bad for cable management was I?
And the bottom - bundling up those stock cables is a nightmare.
Good riddance.
The main 24pin ATX cable in the kit. The ends are nicely terminated - no heatshrink here!
And in! Looks better already. The ends that plug into the PSU needed a little bit of wiggling for them to slide in but no drama really - just take your time and don't force it it (that's what she said!).
Easier to bunch up than the old cables - still not fantastic due to the case design but better deffinately.
And the top section. I like the way the pic-e cables loop round - might invest in some combs!
And I still had loads of cables left over - and that's on a sli, 5 hdd, 1 dvd and 11 fan build!
So - overall impressions?
Well, how exiting can power supply cables be? They are certainly easy to install, they are easy to route as they are super flexible and the colours are great with non-heatshrinked ends. If I hadn't have won them, I'd have certainly considered buying a set. On a difficult case like mine they've certainly helped me make the best of a bad job. In a case that's designed for proper cable management they will be absolutely stunning.
Summary - highly reconmeneded!
Check out OCUK's range of CableMods products if you think they'll help your build out.
