Hey, would be great if anyone could have a look over this and advise on where I've made any mistakes/could improve. I've been asked to build for a relative with a budget of £650 for family/gaming use, they're still deciding on case but it will be ATX and I'm expecting the cost to be £20-£70 whether they decide to go by looks or not. Already have OS and monitor/peripherals.

I know "gaming" is quite general, so something like ~4GHz GHz, 8GB RAM, 2GB gfx, SSD for OS and HDD for other storage, and modular PSU. Tbh 1TB is probably enough, but including 2TB for now to see how it goes

Invel v AMD: They don't really care, I've just went AMD below because Intel confuses me more lol

First I came up with:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 - AMD Pildedriver FX-8 8350 8 Core CPU & Motherboard Bundle **£12 Saving** £230.98

1 x Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache HDD - OEM (WD20EZRX) £67.99
1 x Cougar GX V3 600W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £59.99
1 x Kingston 120GB SSDNow V300 Drive SATA 6Gb/s 3 2.5" (7mm height) Solid State Hard Drive - (SV300S3B7A/120G) **Upgrade Bundle Kit /w Adapter** £47.99
1 x Avexir Core Blue Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U16001104G-2CW) - Blue Light £41.99
1 x LG 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM GH24NSC0.AUAA15B £13.99
Total : £584.92 (includes shipping : Ex.VAT).

Tweaked it a bit figuring savings could be made, got it down to this:

I know some of the stuff is on sale and will probably change by the time it's ordered, just trying to give a couple options. Will discuss with them whether to go for the full £650 or not

Had another look, dropped the motherboard down to the Z97-P, is it worth +£9 for the Z97X-SLI? I don't see them ever wanting to stick an additional card in I mean so just going by the other stuff

The Kingston ram is same price but has different timings, I thought lower was better but the original price is throwing me off, which is preferred?

Could get the CS450M elsewhere for +£13, just trying to get them at least semi-modular, suppose it doesn't matter too much eh?

Thanks!
