my main gaming pc is as per sig, cpu is currently 90-98% on BF1.

I have a second PC with a z97 board 16gb RAM and a m.2 SSD, i5 4460, is it a worth while upgrade to basically swap the guts over between the 2 pcs and get an i7 4960k, if I get £100 for the i5 then the overall outlay is not much at all

The 4960K is S2011 though and those boards are not cheap, so I don't think it would be exactly an economical upgrade.

Be easier sell that 4460 and buy a 4790 or 4770 - unless you have the i7 model wrong in your OP?

sorry for little offtop but did i miss something ? i get 18 months ago 4790k for 240 from ocuk now is for 349? is it brexit or what :D?

did you try dropping the qpi clock ratio to 36 and the uncore to 12 mine wouldnt overclock without that, its a bit sensitive about ram speed too

Tried BF1 with my other PC (X5675 @ 4.2GHz) and it cannot max GPU usage in few spots with a 970. Runs way better than stock CPU speed though.
