Anyone help with a sugo build?

the heatsink on my prescott tryed loads of diffrent coolers
same thing will happen heat rise's into psu then the psu has to work harder
decreasing fan life.

SO why am I being reocmmended a PC-7 case then, I have a modular PSU, surely the heat from my Pentium D will kill it then?...isn't the V100 plus 2 a better option?..

The voltages will fluctuate more, or the PSU fans will make funny noises.

Depends on what type of death it is going through, some are sudden and fatal, while others are long and drawn out ones. Random unexplained hangs or instability would be the first sign I would imagine, especially under high load.

He is saying that as the PSU is not being used to cool the CPU, entirely different league of heat output.

PSU's are designed for cases and proper cooling solutions like the PC7+ and a Big Typhoon say. The NT06 Sugo and PSU combo is not even listed on the Ss website as a passive solution. That puts some 20+ maybe more degrees into the PSU over a fan cooled CPU.

I would be amazed if the 20+ was only 10+, its a awful lot in PSU temperature terms.

You read far to much into what he posted there, and basing your comments upon a shaky basis of a poorly cooled CPU.

i had Sugo but had revert back to my sn25p due to heat problems and i am with Yewen on not to use that cpu cooler without fan due to not getting rid of heat.i had put fans in allowed places and got a one off the best cpu cooler and with this hot weather it could not cope and caused it to crash all the time when playing games.now my specs are
fx57(got a very good price and it is great at the high res settings)
7800 gtx
2 gig of ram
2405 dell playing at native res at performance setting play bf2

the area where it was so hot was mainboard and ram this was due to air flow was not good,i realised now is with shuttles you have case thatcan cope and will excell at there job(you pay the price and get top kit and i have had 3 shuttles in 5-6 years and they have never gone wrong
the sugo it great case for medium spc pc or media pc but not as top gaming machine

The sugo evolution however has improved on the issues you experienced, has a fan directly over the trouble spot. High tech solution!

Although I am completely with you on the SFF mobo in a case style systems being better. Not really that experienced with the dark arts of small things as I am just getting into the case side after a long departure, but they all have big failings, but the Shuttles do not seem to have such compromises.

Actually there was no mcuh change really, just what you mentioned which does not help a lot, actually increses temps by 2 degrees compared to origninal SUGO, only advantge it has is that the rear fan does not stop you from installing Tall expansion cards, in original SUGO the fan use to be to low down and hit the expansion cards stopping your form screwing it on properly...also the other update was that the HDD cage installs with single thumbscrew instead of two normal screws, so easier to remove and not likely to break....wiht old HHD cage with screw holds were fraglile with a bit of force they risk snapping..., so the Evolution has no improvement really in airflow they just fixed faults with the old ones...faults which should have not been there in the first place if they had decent QC, one of the flaws with silverstone...non of their Heatsink bases are lapped/poloished, so they are pretty disgusting to look at and have burn/finger marks in them...

Explain why my Evo is -4 on my Sugos case temperature please.

Because the room Temperature was different on each build, also other factors, such as how well thermal paste was put on, cable management, weather both cases were in the same room/exact position, waether oy uused the exact same hardware....

I can answer they were constant on all of those questions. :)

Silverstone would not revise the case if there was no point to it, people would not buy a case without improved cooling.
