First post here :) What do you think about this system? If you think I missed something or maybe something is not going to work properly simply bring it to my attention. Believe it or not I've been working on this for about two months. So:

Lian-Li PC-V1000B+
Lian-Li W-V1000B (unfortunately had to get this locally, OC don't have it)
Asus P5W DH Deluxe Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Processor
Zalman CNPS9500-AT Aero Flower
Seasonic Modular M12 600W Silent ATX2.0 PSU
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB)
nVidia GeForce OcUK MSI 7900GTO 512MB GDDR3 VIVO PCI-E (Dual DVI/TV-OUT)
Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1300 MCE Freeview TV Tuner Card
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi ExtremeMusic Soundcard
WesternDigital SATA RaptorX 150GB 10,000rpm 16MB Buffer

Akasa 45cm Rounded Ultra ATA133/100/66 IDE Cable Black (For Optical Drives)
Samsung DVD-RW SH-S182D 18x Black
Plextor DVD-RW PX-755A 16X Dual Layer

+

Corsair Voyager 1GB Flash Drive

Linksys wireless-G Broadband router WRT54GL-UK / 4-port switch
Asus PW201 20.1" Widescreen LCD + 1.3MP built-in camera
Creative GigaWorks 7.1 S750 THX Surround Speakers
Sennheiser PC165 Pro-Gaming Headset + Mic
Logitech Rumblepad 2
Microsoft Windows MCE

That's it. Not sure if I need any other cables. And if anyone asks about the VGA, I'm getting a 7600 with such a system, just because I think that it's not worth getting 8800s at the moment. First reason is the price is still too much, and they're the first series from the 8800s. I'll get an 8800 early-mid next year.

Welcome to the forums. I was going to ask about the 7600 as it seems a little unbalanced compared to the rest but you do have a reason. You probably don't even need the additional cable at all since the motherboard will come with one. Fireskull does make a good point about the PSU but other than that it should be a nice system. :)

Sorry i should have given more input :p As Semi-Pro said apart from graphics and no psu looks like a nice system, seems like a gaming system mabie you should consider the 7900GTO as im using this for gaming, holding off from the 8800 atm lol, a 7600 just wouldnt do it justice

Hi guys, thanks for your replies. Sorry forgot to list the PSU. It's the Seasonic M12 Modular 600W Silent ATX 2.0.

As for the usage of this system, it's basically gaming, media and office work. When I say media I mean watching movies not working with. Hence I got that TV tuner card.

About the graphics card, I can get a GTO and overclock it to a GTX. It's true that a 7600 looks out of place, that's why I will get a 7900GTO. Does the TV Tuner Card connect directly to the monitor or does it connect to the video card? Because I have to make sure is has the inputs/outputs I need. Don't hesitate to suggest any from the website stock :)

Good choice on the PSU and I do think that the 7900GTO is a much better bet in the interim before you go for an 8800 or whatever ATI releases.

As for the TV tuner, every one that I've ever seen just works internally on the PCI bus, you will need to connect an aerial to it and there will be outputs to connect to a TV or monitor directly but it will normally just operate through the PCI bus and output through your video card to the monitor. :)

I have cable tv, just reception which means we don't have the box reciever or whatever it's called, just the basic channels but through cable.

By the way i'm from Malta not UK.

nice setup E6600 is what im going for with that mobo aswell..

But if i was you id get Gskill memory and instead a better graphics card.. But, in reality thats still a good rig, a lot better than some peoples pc's :)

Thanks IceShock for your comments. Sorry forgot to update the VGA card in my first post to a 7900GTO as suggested earlier in this same thread. From the reviews on OcUK the GTO could be easily overclocked to a GTX... that would be cool. It will do the job perfectly until it's worth getting a 8800!

As regards to RAM. Well, it's like choosing different motherboard brands. Everyone has his own top brands. Mine are Corsair, G.Skill and GeIL. The Corsair is what I wanted, unfortunately the pair I wanted is out of stock. According the a very interesting review I read, comparing all modules from different top brands, Corsair won. So I really want to get a Corsair. If you;re interested, this is the review at X-bit labs:

Unfortunately the motherboard is out of stock too. Maybe someone from OcUK will tell us when the Asus P5W DH Deluxe will be in stock again.

I have a question regardin the chipset. The mentioned Asus has a 975 chipset, are there any new ones? How does the INTEL chipset compares to a nForce chipset? What's the main differences between the two? Finally, although the Asus P5W DH Deluxe is a very good, stable and professional motherboard, if you feel like recommending any other motherboard I'll be happy. Don't forget to put a reason, even if you prefer EVGA over Asus just because you're an EVGA fanboy, state it :)

Thanks a lot guys.
