quite interested in this, i have a 26" HDTV from samsung and im very impressed with it, and i'd quite like a digital camera to stop me having to borrow my dads etc etc

looking at around £200 and this seemed to be quite good, 10 mp, and im clueless when it comes to optical zooms and stuff. My dad has a casio exilm which impressed me quite abit.

Main uses will be general photo's for putting things on ebay, and then photo's with friends as well as for taking photographs of graphics projects.

I wondered what peoples view on it were, and also if someone could tell me what the package comes with? like any memoery cards? case? cradle? i assume it must come with a usb cable?

Any help is greatly appreiciated

Benny.

answered my own question, lol

will ned a sd card then, ideally 1gb, any prefernece to make? dont wana spend more than £40 ideally, less if possible, lol

opinions still welcome...

read around for reviews.

Go for sandisk on the card, but beware of buying from an auction site as there are a lot of counterfeit sandisk products. You can probably get 2gb for £40 if you shop around on the net

I haven't seen one but from the spec I dont like it. The one thing that puts me off is the lack of Av and Tv control and the F-stops are rather limited.

ive found a deal with the camera and a 1 gb sandisk ll ultra card for just under £230 doesnt seem too bad. That review was helpful freebooter. I'l have to take a trip into town and have a looky for myself.

what camera's would you guys recommend for a similar price? bear in mind im not an enthusiast so it doesnt need to be 100% perfect....

Erm, I am quite partial or (biased) towards Canon ;) so I say something like a Canon A range will be great for your needs. A few people here have one and no one was disappointed.

mm thats the thing with me i like products that look sleek and stylish and the canon's just dont do it for me i dont doubt their good cameras, i just love some of the stuff samsung are coming out with atm, like the r74 tv's the N7's and the e900 and d500 phones all look and are great.

Then nothing I can say will change your mind if your number 1 requirement is cosmetic, i guess should've guessed when you said you like Samsung cameras because you like their TV.... Therefore there really is no point suggesting any other cameras as your needs are "sleek and stylish" which you can see from photos on the net. The samsung no doubt look sleek, and people might go woooooo when you wip it out of your pocket but what good is it when the photos don't compare?

My opinion, you buy a watch from a watch maker, and buy a camera from a camera manufacturer. Sony, Samsung are electronic giants that does practically everything, they make great TVs and phones no doubt but i still stick with Canon or Nikon for camera.

I value your opinion, i'l definatley go and look and try one out before i purchase, i mite be swayyed if its not as good as people make out. If it matches the quality of my dads casio exilm ill be happy.

My sister has a Casio Exilm, it doess look cool. Giant LCD, thin, light weight and looks sleek. But my 3 years old Canon A60 can take better photos under more extreme conditions because the Casio lack the controls I need.

It really depends how much you value and how much you are into photography. If you just want it for the snap shots, then most Point and Shoot is fine as a lot of people stick it on Auto and that'll be that. If you intend to do that then there is no point and in a way no reason to get a camera with the extra features.

yeh, im not a nutcase when it comes to photography but i like clear images, and im fairly sure the samsung will deliver, most of the reviews test it in extreme conditions which im fairley sure ill never need to take a photo in. Its more or less 'plug and play' for me unless i want to set it to a high resolution or a fine detail in which case thats all i need.

best thing you can do is go and play with a few different ones in your price range for yourself and see what you prefer
