I need a new psu. And while im at it i figure i could do with a new case so im thinking about a Sonata III. including delivery comes dead on budget at £90.

Reckon its a good buy people?

Or should i just go with Corsair and put up with overheating hard drives in my current noisy case? =p

Very good case and psu combination for the price. I'm getting one for my next build, and my current machine is using the sonata II. No problems at all.

Oh, snap! I was thinking the same thing! My current PSU is making a horid noise plus i think it is not providing enough power to the system, so it was either going to be a new case with power supply, or a new corsair modular 450W power supply.

The Sonata III is a great looking and quiet case and it has a powerful PSU. I'm using it to power the spec in my sig and the rails are stable. :)
It is powering 2 HDD's, a TV tuner, wireless card, 2 optical drives , 2 120mm fans and both the cpu and graphics are overclocked.

Cool. I Think im gonna go for it. A bit gutted at spending so much money but it should be worth it, besides its said its quiet and anything is an improvement on this psu and silly 80mm fans =/

cheers guys

I just got a Sonata lll and it seems fine, I have a GA-P35C-DS3R, E6750 with an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro, which when mounted rear facing blows directly into the rear case fan taking all that warm air out.
The only thing I've noticed about this case that's odd is that the front usb ports are upside down!
My personal belief is that all cases should have a top mounted exhaust fan for removing hot air, but few do.

Cheers.

i use to think this but i was told cases are designed to have airflow come in through the front or side and exit at the rear so that the air flows better over the cpu cooler, if its working right not much hot air should reach the top of the case. also most psu's have fans on the bottom which suck air up and blow it out the back at top

Just bought one of these cases.

Gigabyte DS3R, E6750, 8800GTS 640 is my spec. I was a first time builder when I put it together and found very little problems with the case.

It is quite small though, so I purchased an extra 120mm fan to put near the front of it. It makes space tight (I only just fit in the gfx card as a result) but probably worth it with regards to having good airflow.

Nice

In the end i found a pretty damn well priced 700watt FSP on MM so i went for that instead.

Still need a new case tbh. Will see what cash is like in september.
