Freezer 7 Pro and Q6600?

anyone running this combination: Freezer 7 Pro and Q6600?
if so what sort of temps do you guys get? considering to go for the quad myself.

Running at 3.4GHz, temps at idle are 36,34,35,34 & running prime 62,61,62,61

at stock, about 32-34 idle and 55 ish under load

Yep, Q6600 at 3.0GHz, core temps under 60C under load. For the Q6600 unless you're talking about extreme overclocks with high volts, in my view it is a waste of time buying anything any more expensive. The recent review of it on Anandtech was fantastic as well

ahh k, i already have a e2200 @3ghz in my media pc, wanted to switch it to a quad q66 and hope to get 3ghz.
i already have the freezer 7 on my e2200 so i wanted to find out if it would be up to the job of cooling a quad.

I have just bought a freezer 7 pro along with Q6600 Go today, along with quite a few more bits too for my total rebuild . Wont go in to detail, dont want to hijack the thread , but good news to hear the freezer 7 pro works well with quads

For price/performance you'll be hard pushed to beat it

I run it on a Q6600 and it idles around 35-40. (@ 3.2ghz)

I'm idling at 39C at 3.7GHz. If I didn't have to bump the vcore to 1.42 then they'd be lower for sure. When priming small FTUs I get mid 60's.

Will do mate. I will be getting the rest of my system on Monday (graphics card and memory) spent far too much money today too :eek:

then next weekend I will build it. I will be very happy if I can get it to about 3.2 Ghz with decent temps. It should be no problem especialy with the new case and fans I bought today. Should have a good cool start with those.

Hope so mate, I will be using it with the Asus P5K Premium/WiFi-AP (Black pearl) which is a good overclocker, so 3.2Ghz is my target after its settled in.

im hoping to run the quad at 3ghz, started this thread to see if the freezer 7 would be up to the job of keeping the cpu cool enough.

It's fine as long as it's a G0 Q6600.

VID can be anything from 1.25-1.325V I believe.

Freezer 7 works really well.
Been using them where previously i had installed tuniq towers.

The cooling is almost as good.
Unless your going for extreme clocks with lots of vcore they are fine.

They are easy to fit as well, no taking the MB out of the case to fit backplates.

It is a 2 minute job to replace a standard heatsink with one without any dis assembly.

Lap the ACF 7 Pro (important) - lap the CPU IHS if it needs it - throw in some AS5 not too much but not too little either... and the ACF 7 pro will work as well as any high end cooler IMO - my E6600 went from spiking to 65C at 3.8gig to spiking to 54C in orthos... and the normal load temps were more than 10C lower.

If your not bothered about lapping then its still a good little cooler but fairly mainstream...
