Thanks StevenG, nice dual set-up there. Not being a massive monitor buff can you tell me anything I need to know about the monitor? I've read up on the revisions made regarding banding etc and that the current OCuk stock is Rev 3. I'm jumping from a 26inch LG LX2R HDTV which I was using as my main display but I just didn't like it and as I have no HD sources to plug into it was a bit of a waste of time.

Was this the best choice for the price and in the 24inch market?

Thanks guys

Well, after 'umming and 'ahhhing over getting a tft screen to replace my 21" trinitron, and deciding on either the dell or the samsung - deal of the week today tipped it for me.

Should be arriving tomorrow, nicely for the weekend. :D

I assume I made a good choice in your eyes Badass? Going to be used for gaming and for a lot of Multi-Table Poker action :D

Despite all the moans people have about the Dell 24" models, they are fantastic screens. You can't expect the world best all singing all dancing screen, after all the price for this model is extremely good comparative to some models. It's a very impressive screen, has a wealth of inputs and some excellent performance. Yes, people have their gripes, and it's enough to put some people off. Labelling the screen as "crap" is just a little over the top though ;)

So it'll be a noticable improvement from my old BenQ 17in TFT which has 8ms refresh and was very nice for gaming? As long as it beats that then i'm happy.

well i think more than responsiveness you will be very pleased with the massive desktop real estate, wide viewing angles, good black depth, decent colour reproduction, wealth of inputs....the list goes on. It is a massive upgrade for sure. Responsiveness is very good for the size range as well, hopefully will be fine for your needs :)

If only as many people who liked the monitor posted here as the number of those who complain. That would shift the balance. It's an amazing bit of kit at a price I never thought it would come down to, especially considering the features it packs in. But hey, some people can't be pleased.

I'll post a positive thread once received if it does indeed meet expectations, never been way to not give credit where it is due to a product and monitors have always been a premium piece of kit in any set-up I've had.

Considering 3-4 years ago I paid £350 for a 17inch Hercules Prophetview that had 16ms refresh rate, was VGA and terrible ghosting this doesn't seem like such a drama for the price. I was seriously going to order it wednesday evening then I said to my buddy "No, lets wait for deal of the week just in case". GET IN! :D

just a quick question on this ....

How come you get a better warranty AND its cheaper than Dell ???

then I assume if you have any problem you ring Dell direct.....

and whats the cheapest this has been down to .... I guess it will be cheaper after Christmas ???

Looking to replace my 2 NEC 1810x`s with maybe 2 of the dells.

It's probably just OcUK's RMA agreement with them, they do it with all their suppliers because OcUK are so big now they have a lot of stroke.

Not sure about the pricing though, I can only imagine it's a stock thing and they can afford to lose a few quid on them with so many in stock perhaps?

Is it my eye sight or has the TWO price actually gone up £10 (and it looks like 20" version has gone up horrendously)

PS not blaming OCUK - Im sure its Dell doing its old trick of raising the price on a successful monitor - I just thought it amusing that the crossed out figure was lower than the price offered on TWO

I personally think this Dell 24" is amzing value for money - I bought it awhile back for a little more than it is now and Im still very glad I bought it - yeah I was fortunate with no backlight bleed and no dead pixels (A02 model) but its an amazing screen

Hi there

The price has not changed, a few days ago they were £599.99 +VAT, then they dropped too £589.99 +VAT and now we have them on This Week Only at £519.99 +VAT. :)

Next week on Thursday the price will be restored too £589.99 +VAT which is still a very good price.

Too anybody who does not have one of these then you need one. There is no better 24" on the market for similar money in my oppinion.
