I know the likes of XMoon and other wet left-wingers will agree with him but it looks like Nick Clegg is talking about stuff he doesn't know about again.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-19406022

Whats internesting is that the comments section is usually anti-rich and anti-banks and would normally agree with him, but today is seems the tide is turning people seem to be getting fed up of the "lets rape the rich" brigade

Nick doesn't have any credaibility left anyway and his party will particially disappear in the next elelction anyway

Give up Clegg, it's over, I know it's the party conference soon but your base will vote Labour and you'll have to go into a coalition with them in 2015. It's not so easy to make the right noise on the sidelines and then implement those noises...

Clegg is a lightweight, his loyalties are toward Holland first, and that's the kind of model he would like for the UK. Not that that is a bad thing, but it's obviously to conflict sooner or later, especially with the Tories.

libdems are over - they are now lower than ukip in the polls.

at least when they weren't in power they could pretend that they would do some good - now they have shown themselves to be useless i imagine people will be voting for someone else.

imo

I think even the most left-wing of posters will struggle to agree with him.

We should be focusing on long-term growth not short-term band aids.

Due to the unique way the BBC is funded, sorry the UK elects it's representatives, UKIP can be ahead in the polls of the Lib Dems yet still not have any MP's, and the Lib Dem's can keep their safe seats in the West Country and Liverpool. UKIP are there ti just take away from the Conservatives and open up the seat to Labour.

if we are in such dire need of cash who else should pay more then.....

the poor are already stretched to breaking point. since they have the lowest amount of disposable income they shouldnt be forced to cough up even more, yet they are with rising costs of living like energy and fuel and food.

maybe we should start closing all those tax loopholes that allow the rich to pay less % tax than low earners

or we start being more careful with taxpayer's money. do we really need to give india millions in aid for them to spend it on a space program?

do we really need to be at war in the middle east when the people at home are paying for it and seeing no advantage (at least we could be getting cheaper fuel?!)

at the end of the day the rich benefit from this society more than anyone else. keeping raping the poor and there will be a revolt. and i dont think the toffs will fair too well against the poor if it comes to conflict... didnt work too well in france did it?

Perhaps. But they'd still be valid.

Anyway that is a different subject.

For the record, I agree with you on the underlying matter. Clegg is living in la-la land. I just don't think that using the comment section of the BBC is any more or less accurate a gauge of public opinion than, say, some political blog's comment section.

Fair enough.I agree it doesnt represent everyone's view.

This is just Cleggs way of winning over support

Bit extreme, i doubt there will be a civil war somehow. As for giving aid to other countries, it's a bit more complex than just trowing money down a hole that we could be using, we will benefit in the long run from trade and also build good relations with other counties.
