Just before christmas I pushed mine to 2.8 @ around 1.65 Volts for testing 3D Mark with my GTX 512. Both Reserator Cooled. Tested plenty of X2 4400 and most that I tried topped out around 2.5-2.6 regardless of volts. Usually one core would under perform. Currently running rock solid at 2.7 @ 1.55 volts. Things got toasty at 2.8 with the higher volts.

Someone by the name "the" on the xtremesystems forum claims to have my exact stepping using a modded mach I at 2955 Prime stable at 1.65v or similar at around -8* load. So all I need to do is drop my load temperature from around the current +8 to -8 and 3Ghz will be within my grasp. I wouldn't remove the IHS to achieve this as I found out by experience on an opteron that the vapochill screw mechanism crushes cores rather easily and expensively.
