i want to password protect my computer, but is it possible to get it so that you have to enter a password BEFORE windows loads?
this only protects the BIOS, it doesn't stop windows from loading. :/Retorted said:Yes this is possible.
You should be able to setup an administrator password in your BIOS.
Hope this helps.
Couldn't remember which one was which, but im guessing it varies with each board.nade said:You can get "user" passwords - prompts for one before it boots from a drive. And the usual admin kinda password, which you only get prompted for when you try to get into the BIOS.

Thanks
Use NTFS permissions. It's what they're there for, and better for protecting your data.Ry@n said:On this note, is there anyway of protecting a folder ? Id like it so you have to enter a password to get access to the folder.
