I dont get it. which ones better i was reading the other day the 7900 was better, but today the 1900 seems better, i just order xfx 7900 gtx, i dont want to worry. that the x1900 xtx is better...Arrrggghhh! Mummy!......
I up graded because Oblivion is just around the corner....and now theres a thread sayong the x1900 xtx is better for it....... ( slap my self with a big smaelly fish) ..confused..... i am i am running a amd 3700+ but i am going to upgrade to a x2 4400+ next month. will i see the diffrence in game then?

Only possible difference will be image quiality in some games, frames rates will be so high you won't be able to tell the difference in performance as they are both high end cards.

Stu

so i am going to notice the diffrence from my old 7800 gtx 256 then, i am just getting over folking out the large amount of money needed to buy it...

Yeah that will depend on what size screen you have and what res you run.

Both are really good cards, both have good and bad points, the 7900 GTX will be fine dont worry. Some games the 1900 comes out better, in some games the 7900 is better.

Like fireblade said: frames rates will be so high you won't be able to tell the difference

The 7900 is the better card IMO :D

thats a issue at the moment .... running a lg crt .. but i have 1200 to spend at That place I'm not allowed to mention as they are a competitor of all places, and they seem to have a load rubbish in there shop but, i need a new tft 19 inch or above or a lcd tv with high res and and quick response time... but i am limited to what they have in there shops.... any recomendations

You might want to edit your posts as any mention of competitors is banned on these forums. That place where you can buy pcs included.

But as it goes both the 7900GTX and the X1900XTX are qual in terms of overall performance.

Which ever is cheapest offers best bang for buck. (currently for the next few hours at least that is the X1900XTX)

However unless you have a decent monitor neither will offer enough over your current 7800GTX to warrent buying them.

Both are about the same, x1900 is not loud at all, only difference will be as said, the x1900 uses more power, generates more heat, but it is way cheaper, if the heat/power issue is of no concern then go for the x1900, if it is a concern then go for the more expensive 7900, either way your getting a fantastic card whichever one you get. :)

Ati is more of an enthusiasts card, since it likes cooling [Edit: and has adjustable volts] and th nv likes volts. If ** clocking then go ati and upgrade cooling or go NV and be happy with stock cooler.

ATI was first to 1Ghz core, and tops the 3dmark charts.

That bit about nv liking volts I read here:

Not read this but identical topic:

Is the x1900xtx IQ really that much better:
