Bought a load of bits of MM so i could have my first ever shuttle (always wanted one but cost vs performance made me go else were).
This one is going into Living Room as a HTPC connected to a Projector.
Just have to get it all into the shuttle now and make a few brackets, getting the DD gpu block to fit without taking up the pci slot was a nightmare.

Thats amazing! How on earth did you manage to fit all that in!?

Any chance of some more pics? Very very good work for a first time shuttle'r. Would really like to try one at some point but is a similar boat to you what you were. Want but can't justify. Out of interest how much did you pay for the main shuttle?

:)

Hmmm, it is tempting to do something like that with my 2nd rig (if i ever upgrade pinky <- in CC archives). Has a 1/7 celery which i might aswel throw away, lol.
Also getting tempted to get a mATX mobo such as the the newish nVidia 6100 chipset and pair it with a 2nd hand 3000 for a nice little cheep upgrade. Chances are that it'll be my main rig that will be gutted and upgraded tho :p

Conroe/M2 (whever is better) here i come!

hi m8
very nice...for a first time too.
are you thinking of mounting the rad externally?
please do post some pics of the final setup :)

I,m still trying to work out a way to fit everything inside the shuttle, Nightmare is an understatment.....
Eheim placement is very hard should have used the samller one its still external with the rad (might end up making a alloy box for them with cealing fittings so i can move it about, take it places).

I had to trim down the gpu block bolts 3 times so i had clearance to fit the scsi 2120 raid card into the only pci slot. Then i had to change the cpu waterblock screws tooo as the hd holder thingy wouldnt fit back in.

Shuttle psu's are great i have to say this one running an 6800le Fully unlocked and oced, a 2.4 HT at 3245mhz rock stable 1.65v (yes more ocing to go) 2 15k mau's and oem dvd drive (its the smallest drive i had lying around atm, soon to be replaced with 2.5 laptop drive) with no issues and it pretty silent too.

Over all i,m very happy with this shuttles speed, its first time playing with P4's and i like HT, cheap multitasking.
TOTAL COST well its not finished yet but the mau's cost £170 each (worth it tho one you go high end scsi there is no turning back)

As for photos there coming just want to get everything set up right before i plaster cam shot everywere.

just noticed its ten to six time for sleep i think...........

what i would do is get another shuttle case , you see some for sale sometimes minus the mobo and psu, and stick you watercooling in there , as theres not a hope your going to fit that stuff inside your main case

i thought about that pumpman but they go for a fair bit so i thought of making my own alloy casing not hard to do ( i hope ).

As for an update the scsi array is gone as it was making the shuttle very noisey and i felt the pci slot didnt do it any justice so its going back into my main rig, I got a 250 maxtor and suspended it so no noise from it. I,m looking at smaller pumps now as the eheim will not fit at all i tryed everything, problem is that all small pumps are 3/8 fitting and i am using 1/2 in Id tygon so unless i get an 3/8 to 1/2 adaptors ( which i cannot find) i stuck with everything mounted (rad and pump) out side for the time being.

i bought a laptop Hd and dvd drive which might make there way into it too as i like zero noise. it is a htpc after all
