Wembley gigs scrapped after delay
Four concerts planned to be held at the new Wembley Stadium will no longer be staged there as the venue will not be finished on time, the BBC has learned.
US rock band Bon Jovi were due to be the first band to play at the rebuilt stadium on 10 June.
Take That, Robbie Williams and the Rolling Stones were also due to play over the summer.
A spokesperson for Take That said the reformed boy band's shows would be moved to the Milton Keynes Bowl.
The stadium project has been beset with problems and is already over budget and more than six months behind schedule.
The FA Cup final, which was due to be the first event staged at the stadium, was moved to Cardiff after it became apparent building work would not be completed.
Bon Jovi were the last band to play at the old Wembley Stadium before it shut down in 2000.
Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi had been hopeful that despite delays they would be able to perform at the stadium on their summer tour of the UK.
It is believed the Bon Jovi gig on 10 June will be moved to the Twickenham Stadium, which is home to English rugby, although this has not been confirmed.
The original completion date for the stadium had been autumn 2005, with the deadline first extended to the end of January and then the end of March. There is still no official date for when it is due to open.
