Hi,

having problems with getting my PCIE PowerColor x800 GTO working on this board, whenever I install any CATs or Omega drivers the whole system locks up within 30 seconds of booting into XP.

After some info from people with similar setups, please could you post:

* What BIOS you have (I'm on 1.50)
* What type of x800 you have (or other ATI card) and if it has a power connector on it or not
* What drivers you used for the card and board (IE did you install the AGP drivers for the mobo)
* What settings you have in the BIOS for AGP etc

At my wits end with this now, the gfx card works fine in another machine, I've got a 6800Gt from a friend working perfectly in here, I've bought a new PSU so its not that, and I've reinstalled XP 3 times. Ive used the ULI integrated drivers, both 2.13 and 2.2 or whichever ones the latest ones.

Thanks a lot :)

As requested :)

Bios: Was on 1.60 but have tried 1.7, 1.5 and 1.2

Card: X800GTO 256mb PCI-E, no power connector.

Drivers: Cats 6.4, Latest Omega driver, with ULI AGP AND without ULI AGP.

AGP Settings: Tried various combinations, 4x with 32mb, 1x with 32mb etc.

As I said in other thread, card is fine, board is fine, PSU seems fine...just not together (this setup will run more powerful cards).

Wierdest stupidest thing I've come across so far in my time playing with hardware.

*edit*

Just to add, based on my web researching, I'm thinking the issue may be related to the r430 core on these cards. People with r423 and r480 X800GTOs do not have this issue on this MB.

*second edit*

Seen a thread on OCW where someone has the powercolor x800XL (which is r430) and has a problem getting it to work on this MB.

Hi mate,

Yeah I think its a problem with these specific cards and the motherboards then. Think I replied to that thread on ocworkbench, but thats about the only other thread Ive seen about htis problem.

What are you going to do with your card? I think I am unable to exchange mine, but will ask I guess.
