do you mean in your graphics card settings you cant set it at 1680 x 1050? You will be able to once you connect the screen, don't worry :) You could probably create a custom res in there anyway now, but your current screen wouldn';t support it

Yeah, I am now on my 4th Viewsonic monitor in as many weeks, as all the replacements they sent to me have had problems. However, the one that I have now seems to be perfect.

My VP930 is faulty and Viewsonic gave me an RMA number 4 weeks ago. They haven't replaced it yet. I asked them when I'll get one, they said they don't know.. they're waiting for it. It's not a rare model! They won't give a temporary monitor to replace the broken one they sold me, while I wait for them to locate a monitor that isn't broken. Their customer services is the worst I have ever known!

4 weeks and still waiting for a replacement monitor !

We deal with viewsonic a ring at work a lot, they must replace the monitor with a same or better monitor, if they don't have any of yours demand an upgrade, I would (they may suddenly find some stock :D)

I've been trying this, but they won't respond to my emails and their telephone staff just say "We haven't got it in stock. We don't know when we're getting any. You can't have an upgrade". That's gone on for a month now.

They know that I'm stuck with a monitor with no picture, and they've said that as it's a faulty monitor they'll replace it, but in practice they're not replacing it or upgrading it and I can't do anything about it :(

I've only got the support number from their website. This is a long shot, but I don't suppose you've got a number for anyone in Viewsonic who might be more help?

I've just checked our contact database and we've got the same one as quoted on their site,

You could also possibly try asking for a supervisor (they will probablly say busy/unavailable say you are willing to wait, and try to demand something make it difficult for the person on the other end of the phone they should give in eventually ;)

failing that try threatening to take to trading standards especially if it's over a month, if they still won't give you anything contact trading standards as the product you purchased comes with a warranty supplying the warranty.

Hope some of that helps let us know how it goes.

well it finally arrived and works perfectly.

Nice to see my rant and complain about the service was kindly deleted by Spie, what ever happened to freedom of speech, yes i know this is there form and they can do as they please but i hope he atleast read what i typed and took some of it in, i've spent £1000's with them and this isnt the first time.

this isn't the place though unfortunately. If you have any issues, take them up with the shop directly. The forums have their rules and ALL users are expected to abide by them, regardless of who they are (admins / dons included) and how much they may or may not spend at the shop.

i know where your coming from and understand, the only problem i have is that i did speak to them directly and it's like complaining to a brick wall.

Oh well it arrived and works perfectly so hopefully i wont have to do any RMA's etc, i can see the Backlight Bleed but it's not a lot so i think i can live with it.

Didnt realise it was gonna be so heavy though! Certainly a lot more than my 17, it's so nice to have the deskspace though.

Still think movie playback looks better on a CRT :(

its it backlight bleed or just fading of the colours due to viewing angles. I thought I had slight backlight bleed with mine....but if you move you head left or right from the center of the screen...the side you are looking at goes dead black....with absolutely no light at all. This isnst backlight bleed but a viewing angle issue.
