Middle East War Soon?

Anyone see the main headlines, another 2 Israili soldiers have been captured, this time by Lebanese guerrillas who basically come under the Lebanese government. Israil have said they will now enter with great force to find the 2, as well as the ongoing search in Gaza for the other one. Both Iran and Syria support Lebanon

Going to get interesting.

I've seen this coming for a long long time. Would make sense seeing as British forces just pushed through to the south of Afganistan (In the name of Opium fields) to gain a strategical advantage over Iran (Borders with both Iraq and Afganistan, both now occuipied by Allied troops).

Why does the gaza strip and the west bank exsist anyway? All it does it cause trouble

I'm hoping for a proper, entertaining, war. Roll on 24/7 news coverage and loads of pics of tanks, planes and other military hardware.

If a war ignited in the middle east it would be like a droplet effect, it would all ripple out no doubt with a coalition of Islamic States.

I hope there isn't a war... there's already been far too much bloodshed in that part of the world. Not really helped by the support of American and the UK to Israel either...

War isn't a cool thing - and it'll affect us in the UK, a LOT.

LOL i was going to say the same thing but i thought, i wont lower myself to their levels ie posty and Zip. Im quite shocked by their comments though, anyone who wishes destruction on millions of innocent people arent even worth looking at imho.

This all sounds good to me. Hopefully they will sort out the region once and for all (either way). If America gets a bloody nose in the process, the more the better.

Of course it would, it would affect the whole world as israel and palestine arent the only countries that have jews and muslims.

In all seriousness, I can't see anything else but a war out there, the hatred on both sides runs too deep and there does not seem to be the strength of will on either side to want to co-exist peacefully.

They are not innocent, because they are not Jews....

I hate Israel's arrogance but the only real way they will ever "solve" anything is a real war. There is just too much hate and division to do it a peaceful way.

Do you think the UK will just so happen be able to avoid a conflict like that? As op said we have troops in afghanistan, Iraq and probably others in and around there.

The repurcussions of a war event would hit us at home too, Oil for one.

Well to me it sounded like you think Israel is the angel in all of this in your first comment. None of them are angels as far as im concerned, both as bad as each other really.

This is true, just that most people won't admit it. Watching wars from the comfort of your European-based couch is always brilliant. We've had Gulf war I, II (Sequels are never as good) and now we have the prospect of an amusing multiway contest between some crazed religious fanatics (thats the jews and the arabs, btw).

And for all the people saying our troops will be affected - so what ?

They are professional troops and really enjoy killing/shooting/burning stuff. Death is an accepted part of their role (presumably).

They are going into another country to find there 2 capured soliders, if lebanon dosnt like it they can hand them back to calm them down a bit.
There was 7 others that got killed aswell.
And i dont wish death on millions of inocent people but if they want to keep provoking isreal then they are just asking for it.
And Millions of people wouldnt get killed most likely. And its not like they would kill "millons of inocent people" any way :rolleyes:
