I have got my CBT tomorrow and I'm really scared :(

Has anyone out there done it and would you very kindly give me any tips on passing. I can ride a scooter but I get really scared with people watching me, any tips on how to get over that fear?

Thanks :(

I did mine a couple years back, you cant really fail it tbh, as soon as your on the scooter you start having fun anyway so dont worry. Just think at least your not doing a car test, and thats pretty easy anyway.

CBT is the easiest thing you'll ever do, especially on a 'twist n go' scooter. You'll be taught my experienced bikers who deal with complete newbies day in, day out. When I took mine we were told that, if we 'failed', they'd let us keep coming back free of charge until we passed.

Good luck :).

I'm paying £95 for my test, is that a lot or no?
I spent £34 on my liscense then my purse was stolen, then I paid another £19 on it. Then my purse was found  I've spent £140  on a helmet.
Then last week I found a big nail in my back tyre, so I had to buy a new one.
Better blumin' pass this test

Its not really a test, you cant fail as such, if you arent up to standard you may have to go back but that rarely happens as its so easy.
£95 is about right.

Best advice I can give would be actually take on board what you are taught, especially when it comes to road positioning, observation and clothing.

I'm generalising a lot, but scooter riders seem to have the worst riding standards of any motorists. I'm not saying there arent idiots on 125's and big bikes, but scooters seem to attract a higher proportion, at least around here. I was walking to my bike the other day and 2 scooters where riding up the road (town centre) bouncing their front wheels to try and get them to wheelie :/ I can only assume they did their CBT but didnt actually take any of it in......and the amount of people I see riding around in shorts and T-shirts is unbelievable. One things for sure, they'll only ever have an accident dressed like that once.

Which does bring to one other bit of advice - make sure you have proper gloves. The CBT where I did mine (rightly) wouldnt let one guy take part without them. He had to come back another week.

But apart from all that, just relax and enjoy the day. As said, its not a test, and chances are most of the other people will be just an inexperienced and nervous.

I PASSED!!!!! :D

I want to get insurance right away but parents wont let me use their card

I was soo much better than the guy I was doing the test with, he nearly crashed :p

Well Done Megzy!

I passed my CBT today too. Got Direct Access lessons all week, followed by my full test on Friday

I was a lot better than the chavy lad taking his CBT too. Did mine in full leathers, omg it was too hot! And did I look a total looser with full race leathers on a Hartford 125cc bike :D

All the best with the DA mate :) Well done Megzy too.

Looking a prat comes with biking in leather in this heat anyway but i'd rather be alive and hot than dead and "cool".

Well Done for passing

Well if it keeps your head together you shouldn't complain. Safety should always come first :)

As for the tyre have a look at UltraSeal, it's excellent stuff, might be a bit expensive for you, but its good **** ;).
