Ill be using the computer for design work, drawing and modeling packages, games, and watching films, could anybody give me some advice of the pros n cons on each, i've been out of the comp games loop for a while now , is 1440x900 a recognised resolution for things like games?

Those models you have narrowed it down to are pretty good. The Hanns-G is very popular right now, take a look at the big thread about it if you do a search. The Videoseven is cheaper but it's spec varies because it is using a different panel (8ms TN Film panel from Chi Mei Optoelectronics instead of 8ms Samsung TN Film panel). Regardless, this is a widely used panel, more so than the Samsung panel in fact, and has also been used in some other popular models like the Acer AL1916W and Viewsonic VA1912W. There's a fair amount of info on the Acer in the sticky which should help.
