I've had the above mentioned psu (came with my Sonata II) for over six months now, and has been rock solid and absolutely silent for the whole time.
However, the other day, I left my computer on for a while, and when i returned after a few hours, i instantly noticed this loud high pitched noise coming from my psu. I turned off all my pehipheral devices, and even started unplugging spare hard drives to see if i could somehow get it to stop making the noise, but it was all in vain. It still makes the noise after shutdown sometimes, and requires me to turn off the power from the wall outlet to stop the noise.
Im pretty sure the noise is coming from an electrical component inside the psu and is not simply a fan that has become noisy over time.
Anyone have any ideas? Does this warrant a return to Antec? Are there ways of solving this, I think I've heard something about PFC causing noises on other psus?
