Buying a LCD or Plasma

guys im quite new to this site i am looking to buy a new hd ready tv which connects to my pc and can be used as a home entertainment system i have all the sound eq... i jus need a LCD or Plasma.. so please tell me guys what to get , im looking for a 40 + inch screen so fire away and all the latest features hd free view etc.. it would be great if it came with a wall mount because im gonna put it up on the wall but if not i guess ill just have to buy one thx a lot guys

Toshiba 42WLT66 mayby ill get this if i have more money.. but guys please
help me i want excellent quality, itd be great if some could spec me
a everyday use home entertainment system including screen from scratch budget =
1k but if it goes over a 100 to 200 quid dnt matter

plz guys im looking to get it asap anything better than that will be great or tell me which one is best outta them please :)

im going to use it to watch sky play hd movies connect it to my computer and do some fun stuff not really looking to play games on that big a screen but if its good with consoles thatd be a bonus. + i wont mind if it comes with its own audio system aswell or what type of audio system i should use with it.
i dont mind if the size is 32 inch screen aswell because i want quality and connections which will last be 7 to 10 years from now i dont want a tv that i buy now and wont have connections that can be used in a few years time.. and plz suggest the best quality tv for 40+ inch and 32+ inch thanks a lot guys

Sorry, it wasn't the tech aspects, it was the spelling - are you posting from a mobile using text messaging? You might get more response if you make the posts easier to read. :)

Have you thought about a Sony - the new V Series are awesome. I can't afford a V series, so I'm going with the S series. I don't think you can beat the picture quality and black levels of Sony LCDs right now.

/waits to get flamed with "but they use the same panels as...."

of all the lcd's i have bought, the ones i have been most impressed with on price for quality have been LG screens, so much so that i bought one for my lounge, and i usually only go for top spec stuff when its for myself.

other than that i like sony and toshiba, but the extra price is more than any extra quality imho

i understand the sony is probably the best tv out there but to get a 40 inch ill have to pay 500 more quid :P i dont have that money :D so any other alternative? im sorry my english werent that good written its cause ive gotten used to msn lol
 
What's your budget?

For the LCD TV route you could consider the Sony KDL-40W2000 40", which has been getting excellent reviews. Check out the 'What Hi-Fi? Sound & Vision' review (can be found online). It can be used as a PC monitor and outputs 1920x1080 resolution. I've just splashed out on one of these babies and am waiting for it to arrive. :D I will use it as my main TV with the odd spot of high res gaming as well (currently use a 20" widescreen monitor).
 
hmm

should i wait for christmas then? cuz theres bound to be sale cuts by that time and these new toshibas might be released? id love to get a song 40 inch bravia they luk so sexy and hav so many features but with a budget of 1k i can only afford a 32 inch screen unless they put them cheaper at christmas or i could get some offer codes or something
