Hi there

For those who wish to stick with AGP until the DX10 transition and need a quick speed bump until VISTA comes out next year but have always preferred ATI cards or thought current top-end AGP was too expensive. Well now there is a solution the new X1950 Pro on AGP. Its performance should be close to equal that of the 7800 GS+ from Gainward possibly yet its quite a bit cheaper. Obviously it will match any STD 7800 GS easily. :)

So go and check out the ATI AGP section for more info. :)

Just what I'm looking for...but I have to wait how long? :( What's to say the 7800GS+ won't have dropped price by then?

Hi there

7800 GS+ is no longer in production, its now EOL just whatever stocks are left in the channel. So something that no longer exist is unlikely to drop in price unless whats left stop selling which is unlikely.

Good news, and give those 7800's a run for their money at last... But since i just got myself a 7600GT AGP i can not justify a further AGP upgrade.

IS Leadtek still the only Nvidia AGP 7600GT supplier?

Hi there

Yes I believe Leadtek is the only one, but nothing wrong with Leadtek they are a superb brand. :)

Hi there

Yes we've known about it for approx 3 months but back then it was just an idea but now its happening. :)

This could well do me until I can afford a full upgrade mid next year!

Hope the performance isn't crippled too much on an AGP port.

You think I'd see much difference from an X800XTPE??

Excellent news never thought ATI would continue with agp but well pleased :D .

Can keep my AGP K8N Neo2 for another year now then do a big upgrade later next year.

Definately, the x1950 pro is only about 5fps slower than an x1900 XT, so the difference will be huge, i went from an x800 XT PE to the x1800 XT 512mb, and the difference was absolutley staggering, well blew it away and some.

Now I wonder if it would be worth upgrading from my X800 pro? or is my P4 3.2 CPU likely to be a bottleneck? (currently using a CRT monitor and most current games run OK at 1024x768).

will his be considerably better than my current gainward 6800gs 512mb golden sample? might be worth a pop till i do a complete upgrade next year!

And they said AGP was dead and buried

Does anyone have more specific power consumption details? I've been planning on getting the 7600GT AGP as I'm sure it will run on my Enermax 350w psu. Will this card run on a 350w psu?
