ok guys is the 6600 worth the £100 more than the e6300 on a ds4 mobo? what differance is there ie that the 2mb cache more will make?

Yes, I'd like to know. Maybe if some people could run some tests on both E66/700 and E63/400 at 7*400Mhz, so that only the cache is the difference.

The 9x multi is also pretty helpful & should help swing the decision. :)

I think a DS3 and a 6300 7x500 3.5ghz is fastenough lol for anything

And offers the best bang for Buck.

No way will a standard 6600 do 3.6-3.8. I'm not sure how many 6600's you have personally played with but I have had about 30 through my hands and the majority will only do 3.2-3.4. If you get one that will do 3.6 your lucky. 3.8 and your extremely lucky
 
Between those two, I'd get the e6300 and clock it.

There was a review comparing 2mb cache with 4mb cache somewhere and the final result showed a average of 5% difference in performance.
 
A 6300 at 2.59 beats a fx62 and seeing as most can get 3 gig easy they the bargain chip without a doubt.
