This is a great card and tunring in superb quality and speed on aw9d-max with e6600 on all the games.

BUT, I can't get the WDM driver to work.

Has ANYONE managed to capture the Video In ?

I've tried 3 different WDM drivers and 2 different nVidia main drivers all with the same problem - Code 10 on the device :(

So, if anyone HAS it working just please let me know and I'll RMA this card as it's likely a fault. ....... if nobody has yet, then maybe we can pull the coollective consciousness to get a working driver set from somewhere !!!

ANYONE actually able to capture Video In ?

I've tried the steps suggested by MSI and by Andy McLean (OcUK) and STILL can't get it to correctly start the WDM driver.

If nobody posts that they've got it working do we have the profo that it DOESN'T work ? :confused: :)

Post the info you were given and I'll give it a try now.
MSI's was to use their LiveUpdate. Helpful - NOT :(

Andy suggested there had been a problem with some early 91.47 nVidia and to download latest. That didnt' help either.

Asking if ANYONE has it working before I start on a step backwards through all releases to see if I can find one that works :(

MSI's suggestion is to RMA the card :(

But with THREE cards failing in exactly the same way it would suggest either the cards don't support video in AT ALL ( is that why OcUK got a good deal ? ) or still not getting the right drivers ...

Tried so far ......

WDM 2.20 2.25 4.05 and 4.13-VIVO
Forceware 91.31 91.47 and Beta 92.91

and I *think* I've tried every combination too -- kind of getting a little mad with all of it :)

I think it's maybe time for OcUK support to try a configuration and if it doesnt' work THEN contact MSI on our behalf to get an answer. Up for it guys ? In the meantime, if anyone wants to suggest a driver release I'm happy (!:(!) to try it .......

cheers

Very similar results here.
Tried many different combination of WDM driver and graphics driver. Also tried a few reported fixes from Google. Non have cured the code 10 error.

Can't really find a definite answer as to wether this card is VIVO or just TV out !

*Edit* TV out works fine.

OC said it was as I called them BEFORE ordering to confirm that it was deinfately video IN. had them check the box. He said he did :) and it is :eek:

THe cable provided has S-video and composite video IN clearly marked.
*Edit* TV out works fine.
Ta, not even tried that as video IN was key to my purchase decision.

Just looked at the box my card came in.

The sticker reads -

PCI-E, NX7900GTO,512M DDR3,Dual DVI-I,HDTV/VO,Power Cable,SLI

Guess the VO tells the story. It's video out and not VIVO ! ! ! :mad:

i just looked at my box aswell and it doesnt say anywhere on there that it has VIVO

Hi

Anyone got this to work, or any more news. I have the code 10 error as well. Some other websites selling this card state that it is TV out only, some still say VIVO.

OCUK not yet responded to my web note.

Has anyone been able to get VIVO to work?

Cheers

Not read my previous post?

It's a Video out card and NOT a VIVO form the information on the MSI web site and the sticker on the box.

Yep I did see that, but if this is the case (and I suspect that you are right), why is it advertised as VIVO at OCUK (and the add has not been changed), why have both OCUK and MSI helped someone above (unsuccessfully to get it working, why does it come supplied with leads that are clearly marked with video in, and why do the quick start instructions talk about video in? I'm not disagreeing with your conclusion, but just looking for formal confirmation.

Where did you find the link to the card on the msi site. I checked the UK, US and global ones and could not find any 7900GTO VIVO or otherwise? I see the GTX and that does indeed say VO only.

Cheers

Must admit to basing the MSI bit on the info about the 7900 GTX on the MSI site - http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/vga/vga/pro_vga_detail.php?UID=731 It's only listed as TV out.

Look at the next card in their list - http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/vga/vga/pro_vga_detail.php?UID=758 Clearly states video in on that one.

I think that the marketing has become confused at some point.

My other info comes from the box and the fact that it doesn't work.

I'd be more than happy if a fix is actually found to enable the video in but I don't think it's possible.

Well OcUK haven't got back with answers from MSI :(
MSI support haven't got back directly - despite TWO submissions :( :(

So did some deeper digging. An overseas MSI support site turned up their naming convention ....

Chipset
NX = NVIDIA GPU based
RX = ATI GPU based
Features
T = TV Out
V = Video In
D = DVI-I or DVI-Out
2D = Dual DVI-Out
R = Remote Control
F = FM Receiver
8X = AGP8X
E = PCI Express
H = Heatsink
HD = HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Contant Protection) ready
Memory SIze
64 = 64MB
128 = 128MB
256 = 256MB
512 = 512MB

SO the cards ( NX7900GTO-T2D512E ) were clearly NEVER Video IN and marked to those in the know as such - astounds me that OcUK couldn't get that info in the pre-purchase inquiry.

Anyway, heads up for any future MSI cards sold on OcUK :)

So this is now put to bed .... NO VIDEO IN

PS: The card is great performance, just not on video in :D

Legally OCUK should give you your money back if they provided you with false details on the card specifications which they did. You could then buy a card that is known to actually support Video-IN.

Try calling up OC again and talking to somebody there if you can.

Confirmed what we already knew I think.

While it's not a problem here, it is a pity as I'd hoped to use the video in for a few things. :(
