Well i get this lot tomorrow and its my first ddr2 rig

Was just wondering what i should set the vdimm to for my overclock. Ill be using AIR cooling but my case is very very well ventilated and has a 120mm fan over the ram.

Im getting a week24 e6600 off MM, ive looked around and people seem to be getting decent ish overclocks at about 1.53v? Just double checking the voltages really dont wanna go blowing it up lol.

Ive got experience overclocking A64s but 775 ddr2 is new to me

Cheers!

Hi Rain Man....i got same setup as you set mem to 2.1v timings 4-4-4-12....depending on how good your air cooling is for cpu ...but i don't think you'll be giving it 1.53v for 24/7 will get a little toasty....i would aim for 3.2 -3.3 which should only need low volts and you can leave other settings on auto if using 9x multi....you can try for higher but will need more voltage....i run mine 7x460fsb which is 3.22mhz with Vmch +10, fsb +10 cpu @ 1.425v in bios cpu-z 1.39v and mem C4 @ 2.2vdimm which is fast....but for benching cpu @ 3.7ghz 1.56v in bios speedfan reads 1.52v with the help of a desktop fan for xtra cooling....if i can help you any more just ask. :)

Hi wizardmaxx...I would run under 1.5v on air and think the 6300 would reach a higher o/c because of the less cache it has...but does'nt mean it's actually faster than E6600....it seems the E6600 over 3.2ghz it starts to want more voltage from my experience...max temp under 60c....someone correct me if i am wrong. :)

I have exactly the same setup Rain Man. Use these settings straight out the box:

CPU Clock Ratio (Multiplier): x8
CPU Host Feequency (FSB): 425
System Memory Multiplier: x2
Timings: 4,4,4,12
MCH voltage: +0.1
CPU voltage: +0.1 (1.425)

Leave all the other voltage controls at default. That will give you a nice and easy 3.4GHz.

absolutly top end advice guys cheers! ill let you know how ti goes tomorrow just had the dispatched email

Thanks!
