my new fiesta zetec, 1.25L 16v, not got a name yet tho.

cost me £2000, 48k on clock.

good for 105mph "im told" but it can go faster. i think 0 - 60 is about 10 - 12 seconds, so not super fast, but a big improvement from my p reg punto 55 which died on me on the motorway. nothing like being pushed(not towed) by my dad along a motorway at 50mph at 1am

anyway key features :p

air con, and cat 1 alarm and a button to close the flaps to circulate air(not s slidy bar :p )
cost me £24 to switch insurance from punto to this, and ive got 3 points.

hoping to get some new rear speakers as only 1 works, and maybe a sub, not going for anything that makes my car bounce, jus to take the bass of my speakers so they can concentrate on the wailing guitar solos :)

had it four couple weeks now and i love it :)

0-60 is around 12 seconds and top speed 100mph. any quicker is either because you are going downhill or you taking the indicated speed on the speedo as being 100% accurate, which they very rarely are.:)

well it did 105 easily, did it at about 5000rpm, goes to 7000, i think it got the grunt to get to about 115, wernt downhill pretty much level. my punto did 106mph, but that was slipstreaming a van going down hill.

im sure what they put in the books as the top speed is a little lower than its max speed

i was looking for a 190E with the big wing but they a bit more £££ than i had

anyway im quite chuffed :D

indiacted on the speedo right ;)

just to give you an idea my BMW is 3% out. if speedo indicates 103mph, GPS says 100mph. my 200sx is around 7% out, 107mph speedo is 100mph GPS.

Parkers says 0-60 12.7, top speed 104. The speedo is most probably ~10% out when it says 115 :)

who cares about the top speed, if your stupid enough to do that then you deserve to get caught

Looks a nice enough car anyway :)

Nice car :) Are you sure it's a zetec, as they are flight wheels suggesting a *shiver* 1.3l engine  I'm sure it's just a misconception on my part but just checking :)

Definately Zetec alloys. My girlfriends Fiesta Zetec has them.

Oh well, I stand corrected. I'm just used with the Fiesta Flight having these as standard, I think it's just with my mam getting the Fiesta Freestyle at the time which was when I took more notice :o

Don't ever believe the speedo, I've had mine read 137 - about 20mph more than the car should be able to do :p

First, congrats on the car, second, this isnt the sort of car you really want to be doing much over 100 in anyway... (not that I can talk when I drive a puma !)

however, indicated speed means erm, not that much really. ive had literally a hair away from 140 indicated in the puma (private road obviously) and it was pretty dam close to the limiter. In reality, id imagine thats probably around 115-120 tops... you might have a digi speedo option with yours (its displayed where the mileage is, theres a trick you do with the key) that should give you a clearer indication as to the actual speed...

1st , it says zetec on back and on engine

2nd, whats this trick to get digital speed?

Hold the trip button in whilst you start the engine. When "TEST" is displayed in the trip LCD's, use the button to cycle through the options.

More info

Nice car, ive got the same engine... as everyone seems to say, it is a great engine for what it is. Ive had mine for a year now and have loved it during that time. Not one problem with it, super reliable and its been a great first car. I am now looking to get rid of it atm due to me wanting an upgrade in power, plus I have always wanted a Zetec S so i am staying with fiestas as i simply love them lol. Chassis' is superb, hence why the puma shares it.

any problems etc, get yourself over to ukfn, lots of info on these and many friendly people willing to help... :)

the 190e is one of my favorite cars, i will own one someday, jus not for a while :p and jus not practical on insurance

fiesta is quite nippy and pretty good at holding the road, my gf doesnt like driving with me now i have this.
