Gah, this is driving me up the wall. I cannot explain how much i suck at this game. I will persevere, but can people give me some pointers?

In a game where u cant float pass people (if i go near an opposition player i get tackled) and long balls seem impossible, how can u make players run into space?

the problems i have is passing in the air, finding players in any kind of space, winning the ball in the air...

this is my first pro evo, but are there any general gameply tips people want to share?

pretty please?

Which Pro Evo are you playing? It can get a little frustrating at times when you're staring at a space you want to pass to, but no one wants to run there, lol, the AI is a teeny bit iffy. I think EA tried to address this with their 'Off The Ball' feature on whichever FIFA it was. Perhaps I'm just crap at Pro Evo too, but I don't think there's a way of making your team mates run into space, but I've found that if you can master using the analog stick to pass, that's the most successful way of passing.

You can compete to win the ball in the air, but I don't know which console you're using (I think it's R2 on the PS2).

One tip I have is not to rush, or get too plucky with the sprint button, master side stepping and direction changes. :)

Could you not see any other Pro Evo 6 threads good enough for you to post in?

Dude. SERIOUSLY. Why do you care? this has been the second time today you have replied with that basic reply.

Fair enough, I hate football, and don't like pro evo, but he is asking for a few tips, which I think is fair enough...

Tell me about it, this must be the fourth time in a few days I've seen him post a reply like that. I simply can't see why it matters...

He also did the same to my thread that wasn't even Pro Evo related :/

If he posted something helpful at the end of his post, I would have said that its valid, but it seems he is just replying to almost be nasty.

A few general Pro Evo tips......

Hold R2 (trigger button on 360 pad) for closer control. This is good for moving in tight situations and changing direction quickly at close control.

Uses passes to open up space. Switching play will usually open up a bit of space.

One-Two's are also very effective for opening up the defence.

Find a formation you like and get used to that one.

The condition of the players (the arrows next to their names) does make a difference. Most notably to free kicks and penalties. Where possible I would avoid giving a pen or free kick to a player with anything less than a green sideways arrow, no matter who that player is.

Above all else just keep trying, level 1 or 2 should be fairly easy so try and learn on level 3. If you find you're struggling to win for a few games, stick it back on level 1 for the odd game and give someone a spanking.

It doesn't have anything to do with whether or not I like the content. As a matter of fact, I like Pro Evo 6 and am awaiting my copy to arrive, but the number of Pro Evo 6 threads is silly. Why can't they all be restricted to one thread, like most games are?

While I do agree there is a massive glut of threads, there is no more of this game than there will be Gears Of War, or the Wii when it comes out.

Besides, if you look at the other threads, 1 of them is saying if the game is worth buying, the other is setting up matches for the 360, the other for the PS2. His post would probablly get lost and would not really get much help.

Stop being so petty about it guys, the thread's gone way off topic now, hardly anything useful in it.

I usually try to play up the wings and then depending on if I have players in the box, will either cross it in, or cut in and try and cut the ball back to someone on the edge of the box.
This way you don't need to worry too much about making space - there's normally plenty of space on either wing - and at most, you should only have to go past one opposition player before you get into a crossing position.
Of course, to get anywhere with this method you need good full backs and fast side midfielders or wingers.

tips are helpful, ty

the reason i didnt post in the pro evo threads is because they have gone from "oh man pro evo is so crap even thpough i havnt played it" into live matchups

my post doesnt realte to either- i would rather not shove it in the middle of some posts trying to organise games.

anyway back to tips and tricks.

How do you actually get past players? i like spurs and the problem i keep having is getting space. spurs are pretty average irl, but when you translate this in game, it proves rather insurmountable- my players dont look for space and trying to work an opening is a nightmare.

what are effective methods of dribbling down the wing? R2 and then dash? or trying to use the tricks listed in the manual?

You could try tricks if you're proficient enough and sharp enough to time them perfectly, but I would say just keep it simple; slow down when your marker is approaching, and side step, super cancel, or even stuff as simple as waiting for the right moment and then hitting dash. One-twos down the wing are effective too, if you have a wing back who gets forward well, and also through balls down the wing past their wing backs.

L1 and through pass puts a lofted through pass, which can be handy. Learn how to do dummy shots... press shoot and then X (PS2) or A (360) to dummy a shot. Great for sending defenders the wrong way.

Shape your player up for a pass into space... your other players run into the space you're facing a lot of the time.

vary your sprinting using a mix of both sprint buttons.
