I no it's not really a thread about 'home' consoles, but arcade consoles.....so still consoles!

I can remember hanging out in the arcade before the days of Playstations etc playing:

Shinobi
Double Dragon
Super Sprint
Gauntlet
Ghost and Goblins
Pac Land

Used to LOVE Shinobi, Gauntlet & Super Sprint!

Ghost and Goblins was cool....but i was pants at it :D

What arcade games did you lot play?

Super Sprint was legendary, also played Gauntlet to death. Commando, Ikira Warriors, Afterburner, Xevious, Missile Command, 720, Outrun, Zaxxon, Battlezone were also faves, and when the fair came to town Star Wars and Hard Driving along with Splatterhouse got a good play as well. Ah them were the days :)

Ahhh, how could i forget the oldies like Commando & Out Run!!! :D

Remember the other driving game after Out Run where you were cops & had to ram the cars to stop them?

I also remember Star Wars when the fair came *lol* Good old carnies :p

I havent really enjoyed an arcade game since the days of Shinobi, Golden Axe, Robocop etc. Seems such a shame that arcades are now just endless rows of fruit machines with the odd £1 a go driving or shooting game :(

EDIT- its easy to forget things like Moonwalker. I remember playing that with a mate and it didn't matter who was playing there would always be a huge crowd around the machine.

Ohhhhh yeah i used to love rainbow island and that snow brothers as well :D

Used to play the turtles arcade game, Chase H.Q, Splatter house and The New Zealand Story. Oh and how could I forget pumping loads of 10p's into bust a move and Pang.

There was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sort of platform based game which I was completley addicted to. This is the only one that stands out really.

Chase HQ! Another one that the fair brought to town... Forgot about Paper Boy as well, and Final Fight, Operation Wulf, Contra. There was an old beat 'em up game as well, bloke in a karate outfit. You'd fight along a floor of a house, get top the stairs, go up to the next floor and then fight through that one. Can't remember what it was called though  EDIT: Quick google, it was called Kung Fu Master :)

Oh and one I spent loads on, NARC!

So many games I used to love when I was younger...

Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets Of Rage... Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter 2... Probablly all the really big sega games, and a lot of the smaller 3rd party ones.

When the PS1 came out, I was addicted to Tekken, which lasted till just about Tekken 4 was released on the PS2... On the saturn I used to play VF2 almost constantly.

Alien Sydrome was probably the arcade game i was best at, could finish it a couple of times round on one credit. Going back a bit further than that, i used to play a lot of Sinistar and Battlezone.

Quite liked Rolling Thunder, but was never much good at it. Got to the end of TMNT a few times on coop play but with spending a fair bit of dosh to do it.
