"ABIT are looking to release their IN9 32X-MAX motherboard to the world sometime in Q1 and we can’t wait to get our hands on it for testing!"

I don't think I can wait until sometime in Q1. I've already waited months for a decent nForce board.

This looks like it's going to be a fantastic board.

Have done a little digging, and it seems that price-wise, it will be in the region of £160 - Cheaper than the evga.

This is gonna be my board. :)

Only 2 PCI is a bit limiting... I have a DigiTV card, an 802.11g card and an Audigy II. The ovbious one to dump is the sound card and use the on board - can anyone say anything about the pros and cons of using on board sound instead or Audigy II?

PS, couldn't care less about surround sound, will only ever use two speakers.

I suppose if you didn't really care for groundbreaking sound quality; or use a 2.1 speaker setup, onboard is fine.

Although, if it was me, I would get myself an external wireless dongle, and keep the sound card. :)

Aye I am also interested in this board, any news on an offical release date please? Also will these be available for pre-order???

Funny ive posted in the product suggestions yesterday for one of these. I went the AM2 route but quite dissapointed with the Asus mobo i went for(crosshair) and noticed this coz i want to get back to an abit mobo if i cant sort my Asus out. Might aswell change to core2duo at the same time :D .

Looking good. I so want Abit to be like they were in the good old days. A dates yet? Says 9th on the release?
Aye would be really make me smile if the Abit board was better than the DFI/Asus/Evga/Others boards - the design of this one seems a lot better than the AW9D-MAX.

Price wise it looks set to be cheaper than the other motherboard rivals for the 680i, also from what I have gathered its due for Release Mid December - is it me or does the UK seem to aquire Abit Stock more quicker than most countrys? ;) :D

I just want a confirmed date when I can buy one and I'll be having it!
Along with a conroe, 800GTX, 2GB dominator etc etc :)

Also, any links to some reviews of it yet?

Why do you want to buy it before you've even seen reviews? It might be a dog!

lol, good point!

I will obviously take reviews into account but I can't see it being totally useless.
If it is, then abit have completely lost the plot and I'll be forced to buy a good board and shed a tear for the abit of old... :D

For the last year - 18 months Europe seems to be getting boards before N. America.

Just recieved an e-mail back from Abit:-

Hi there,

As per subject, can you tell me when the IN9 32X-MAX motherboard will be available for purchase in the United Kingdom?

Would really appeiciate the information.

Thanks,

Paul.
Dear Paul,

We should have it to you beginning of January  mate. Thanks for your kind inquiry. Cheers! Abit Sales Team
Maybe worth the wait in my opinion, considering the disgusting price of the Asus & most likely the DFI.

That's the reason I didn't get a AW9D-Max, only the 1 PCIc on that. I could do with this (Audigy and TV card). If this was out this week I'd have snapped it up. This too looks awesome, and a pretty good layout for the slots. :)

I've never been an Abit fan (by-passed their hey-day, and their recent history has been rather lacking), but their current/near future boards are looking pretty awesome.
