105mph on the A55

105mph on the A55 near Abergele

Offence is dated 17th Oct
Letter/Postmark 2nd Nov

So do I ignore or do I send a letter back saying your too late?
Also does it make a difference as the car is in wifes name but I was driving?

Its very very close, i dont think you will get away with the 14 day rule as it says add a few days for postage, i dont know but perhaps try ignoring it, that may get you in more trouble htough. Maybe post on that pepico site or whatever its called.

The speed camera people have to post the NIP within 14 days of the offence, or it's null and void.

Even if you start the counter the full day after the offence on the 18th, they still didn't post it within 14 days.

Get on the forums over at pepipoo, but you might be OK....fingers crossed!

What road is it? is it a nsl or a 70 limit, also the police are massively up on this 14 day thing now, you might have a fight on your hands if you dont pay it. Good luck but you might have to bite the bullet and to be honest you are looking at 6 points at least and maybe a fine of over 100.

Ok well you either ignore it which tbh i would take advice on, im sure it says on the leaflet that comes with the NIP about the 14 day thing, have a read, it says to give 2 days for postage i think. If you plead guilty via post im sure its a court summons for 105 in a 60 as over 100 in a 70 is a ban i think. To get done for 105 would be around 115 on the speedo when you where driving if you take in overeading which most car speedos do.

Aslong as you are insured to drive it then it doesnt matter that you where driving and not your wife, just means you get the crap and your partner doesnt, will effect the insurance though i might have thought.

Ever been on the A55?

It's like a motorway, but with one less lane. Think the limit is 70 anyway.

I broke down on there on the way back from a funeral. 3 mates in the car and a flat battery. Running up and down the hard shoulder trying to bump start the car was fun, I can tell you.

Yeah its a pretty decent a road, its as wide as something like the M54 which is also 2 lanes.

Where the hell was the van in Abergele? I've done 1000s of miles on that road and its normally at the foot of Bodelwyddan where a cop car will sit and then pull you over?

Over 30mph isnt a straight ban and can depend on other stuff like when/where etc.

Its 14 days plus 2-3 days for postage for a personal car; another 6 months for a company car.

I dont know I've only ever been there 5 times!

The only cops I even noticed on the a55 was just where it goes down to 40/50 ands theres a shopping centre to one side of the road but think that was further on

Edit : it says A55 Jct 24A>24 does that mean anything?
