120mm fan 2400rpm this very loud?

Fairly loud. Can't really judge noise level by the rpm, what fan is it?
For comparison the nexus goes at about 1300rpm and thats just audible, but its got a good smooth noise character.

will find out 2moro, will update
I'll tell you now, it'll be loud.
Don't bother updating unless you fancy telling us which fan it is.

Edit: I see its the stock ninja fan. Why didn't you say so?
It doesn't run at 2400rpm i'm fairly sure. Its relatively quiet, but it clicks.

Edit 2: Ohh look

My TT LED is 2000rpm, not much motor noise but it is quite "whooshy" With it in at 100% my system was quite a bit louder, compared to stock CM 12cm case fans (1200rpm)

Correct, max is 1200rpm, usually around 900rpm. It does click, dunno why  although not audible from distance, just up close.

Yea, the clicking is annoying but fine for most people. I found it resonated a little, but that was in a bad case. Its not a bad fan actually for a stock fan.

its not a stock fan you see, rev A didnt come with a fan
I see.
Believe it or not i do actually know that.
So... you gonna tell us which fan it is or would you like us to keep guessing?

Didn't you find out what it was when you bought it?
If you've already bought it then there's not much point trying to find out if its loud or not, you'll find out anyway.

Ok installed the ninja, look ages to get it sorted. not much space when you installing without taking mobo out.

Ok the fan was the Scythe 1200rmp and not the 2400 that was on the email from the seller. but my case fans make more noise lol

maybe i'll get a 2000rpm fan because load temps are 49*c which 1 degrees less the freezer and 5 less then stock cooler.

i think i'll see better perfomace when i get faster fan.

since changing from stock cooler >freezer>ninja my GPU tems gone up by 4*C

I find room temperature makes a massive difference to cpu temps with the ninja. Currently with 20 degree room temperature cpu temp is 43, but once the room warms up to around 25 which it normally does, it will go up to 48, and 51 with the fans on low. Thats on an opty 175 1.47v 2.5.

Higher gpu temps means your ninja is doing its job and the case or casefans aren't. Don't bother upgrading the fan on the ninja until you have done something about your case airflow if you can, as a 4 degree increase in gpu temp suggests bad case cooling.

i have 1 80mm fan on the front blowing in, 2 side fans blowing in over PCI/PCIE (gfx card) and 90 mm blowing out and tangan sucking and blowing LOL

the tems increased when i changed from stock cooler

Try changing your side fans to blow out. Sometimes changing fan direction around can make a massive difference. May even work better with them removed. If you can try experimenting with lots of different fan configurations.

Really you need a case with 120mm fans, make that your next upgrade if you're after better cooling, i think it would help a lot.

thanks guys much appreciated. will try it when i get time, so tired of changing pc stuff, looking to buy ram that will work with my mobo and selling the g.skill but that would mean taking off ninja LOL

I have ocz ram and i find i can just about get mine out with the ninja in, make sure you try that before you go to all the hassle of removing it. :p
You should be able to get it out unless it has a bigger than normal heatspreader.
