Hi, I was under the imprssion that Vista wont be released until Jan 2007 but i see threads of people reviewing it, and people seem to have it already, how are people getting their hands on Vista before release?, legally that is. Ive heard a few people say they have got it off MSDN, whats this and can anyone post a link to where i can download a free trial of Vista (No warez etc. please :p )

Thanks a lot, Ben

It's been released to businesses so that'll be how people get it.

MSDN = Microsoft Developer Network and costs quite a lot to get access to, or you can get access through the company you work for/University etc.

Don't think they're doing trials anymore unfortunately.

yup

30th, i remember that because its my birthday

how much was xp pro when it first came out?
I think it was around the 200 mark for the retail box. Not 100% tho. Might have even been as high as 250.

Does anyone know the likely price for OEM Ultimate? We already know OEM Home and Home Premium are around the same prices as OEM XP Home and XP Media Centre - but where does Ultimate fit in? Will it be more than OEM XP Professional?

The price of XP Pro OEM was higher on release then it is now, but from what I know, Vista Ultimate will be more expensive then XP; by how much is not really obvious at the moment.

Oh, and I've been given a licence from uni, but I havn't installed it yet, although I tested RC2.

At the moment retail price of Vista Ultimate is set around £369. I think it's taking Borat out of everyone.

Wooh - the RRP for the retail version of XP Pro is £289.99 yet it can be bought for £232.99 mainstream. So maybe Ultimate will be around 28% more expensive than XP Pro?

Before I can answer your question, I need to be able to understand it. Maybe you should use some punctuation? :)
