hey is anyone running a 360 off a 19" monitor not widescreen ?
How good is the quality i will use the VGA cable?
Also what is the diffrence between the HD VGA cable and the normal VGA cable and does it matter when its run off a 19" pc monitor?

samsung 913N 19"

Cheers guys :D

i run mine on a 19 inch non widescreen IIyama monitor. Image quality is absolutely stunning :)

regarding the VGA cable, I got the official Microsoft VGA HD AV Cable and according to many it's the best one to get. Stay away from 3rd party.

Im running it on my 930bf and it looks quite nice actually.

Most games are made for widescreen only so you get black bars but its no issue when your close enough to the screen. :)

You can probably mess about with the res you select or run in widescreen and hope your monitor does a scaling job, but text would be unreadable.

The bars are not very big on any game and im 50cm away at best so it does not bother me, looks very nice indeed. :)

I will get you a screenie if you hold on for about 5 minutes. :)

same monitor as me Yewen.

Black bars can get annoying at times, but there livable with.

Also have official VGA cable...works really well just be wary of your sound connections, had to do some creative wiring here to get mine sorted, using a headphone/speaker switch in reverse.

Ahh I run mine through my amp so no issues, uploading the piccys now.

Gives you an idea, I personally do not find it an issue.

mines working fine now, just needed some creative wiring to get it working with my Altecs.

I dont find it an issue its just which games do, which dont thats a mystery at times.

i have a 24" widescreen HP LP2465 and i am thinking of running a xbox 360 on this, would this be in HD just like the tv's?

As above, Yes. HD is nothing new. PC monitors have done it for decades, just TVs are getting to that level now.

Got it going on my Acer 1916w with the official lead.

It looks good, much better than my non HDTV, no competition tbh.

Although the colours do look washed out at times, but that's to do with a £100 TFT more than anything else.

Would love to see the 360 on a big 32" HDTV.

Also xbox live GOLD or SILVER ?

Whats the diff:S?

Silver = free forever, can download demos and patches, vids and the like.

Gold costs about £30 a year and allows you to play your games online, you get 1 month free when you create a LIVE profile on the console.
