I have bought a 512 mb Sapphire one.

My unlocked 3Do5 score is 7200. Is this low?
With P4 clocked at 3.7 I get 8028.

When I clock the card to 600/750 My score DROPS ! to 8008.

Also using Ati tray tools I can not get the new clocks to stay or save them I have to use CCC instead. When I check for max clocks with Tray tools I get a blank screen and a crash.(tried low level and driver level just skips straight to max clocks without even running the test?)

I turned up the volts to 1.6 and it managed to run 3D05 (crashed before)

Man do these cards not like clocking because I have seen others on here with good clocks.

I'd say that's pretty normal: got 6306 on a 3.06 P4 533 HT at 3.32 but AGP 4x

The software support is sparse (no temps either)

What drivers have you tried. I found 6.11 a lot better then the one's with the card but 6.12 was completely unstable

Use the newest Ati Tool 0.26 beta with Catalyst 6.11. it completely solved my problem ocing the X1000 series. The clocks won't switch back to stock and you don't need to disable any service, too! It is a lot more stable than the Ati tray tool which often crashes while switching oc profiles.

I have tried this and the card just locks up monitor goes black evry time I try to change the clock.
Should I RMA it?

what grounds are you going to return the card under? mine doesn't overclock either but it's fine at stock. it seems to be all sapphire cards have this problem as they have no heatsinks on the vrms << that last sentence was a bit technical for me but it's what i've read on various forums.... :p

as for your scores, i'd say they are about right. the p4 is holding it back it slightly as i can bust 10k with my setup.

but really the benchmark is irrelevant. i'm sure you can play all your games at decent settings, right? :)

i just got the sapphire 512meg 1950 pro agp from ocuk also

managed 7150 ish on 3dmark05

quite chuffed as it destroys css, prey, fear, and everything else ive thrown its way yet

also found the 6.12 just as good as the 6.11 driver wise.

I am playing quake 4 at the mo 1600x1200 everything on high with 2x AA. Plays fine and only drops down to 20fps in a few places.
Gonna play through Farcry again.

The only thing that disturbs me is that it does not even get the chance to clock, as soon as i go to find max on the core or mem it just shuts down and I got to reboot. I cant even clock to 0.0000005%
Some peeps are getting good clocks so mine is duff?

Anyway still happy with my card but not much of an improvement as I expected over my X800XT (Mind you that is still a great AGP card).

I have a Sapphire Pro AGP as well and am getting about 7100 on 3dmark05 so that looks about right. P4 2.4 Northwood running at 3.2 with 1:1 ram FSB 267.

Running most games at 1600x1200 maxxed out so have no complaints. Looks like my AGP system will last another year :)

I thought it said on the web site that ATI tray tools doesn't support the x1950pro yet for overclocking. It doesn't work for me either.

But CCC lets me clock to 620/780 with no problems yet.
Still using standard cooling. I can only hear the fan a few seconds after power on. I thought these cards were supposed to be noisy.

Running with 6.12 Cats

Do you actually get an increase with performance mikemod with the clocks as my score actually went down with CCC on the card hence I dont think the card was clocked at all. (P.S. I used ATI Tool not Tray Tools.)

Funny you should say that but my 3dmark stayed the same whether standard or overclocked.

I assumed it was because I was CPU limited.

Interesting mikemod,

Could you clock the cpu back to stock and see if the graphic clocks makes a difference would be interesting to find out, though I suspect you maybe right.
