Halo3 Beta..Bundled with crackdown (including uk)

Just wondering how you guys feel about this beta thing..Im a bit miffed to be honest. Only the 1st 13,333 players up signed up on halo3.com will get a beta key. But if you shell out £40 you get to play the beta? Im thrilled that i will get to play halo3 in some form in feb but im still a bit miffed. This shows how cleaver microsoft are...the bloody [No swearing, disguised or not]

Whats you oppinion on this? Will you shell out £40 just like me to get your hands on halo3 earlie??

My opinon? Think yourself lucky you get to test the game, as 99% of the games out there wont have public betas. Sure MS are making a little money out of it, and adding some sales for crackdown. They're taking advantage of all those people so desperate to have a little sniff of Halo 3. Hardly a bad thing really, if you go out and spend £40 on a game just for a buggy cutdown version of Halo 3, then so be it, I personally wouldn't.

Oh, and fully star out that sweary :)
 
Kinda reminds me of the fileplanet routine, sign up here to play the beta, though its a lot cheaper than £40.

Buying a game just to beta test another is pretty retarded when you think about it. Not like you're gonna get a free copy of halo 3 at the end of it for helping them polish their game.
 
Doesn't bother me one bit since I am buying crackdown regardless of the Halo 3 beta, so its just an added bonus to me :)
 
I personally have never understood the Halo obsession.

Now the question is have MS seen that Crackdown is going to bomb so bundled this beta offer to drum up sales? I hope not because I'm looking forward to this game!
 
I have already ordered Crackdown and it's now listed as coming with the Halo3 Beta key, but I won't use it anyway. Beta's for someone like me will only ruin a game :(.

Same here, while halo 2 and 2 were decent games the whole "copy paste copy paste" level design for me just got irritating as hell and made it confusing to play. Never even bothered finishing halo 2 it just got so monotonous for me. :mad:
 
Yeah the beta is a bonus (although can't say that I will play it). Crackdown looks like it could be a very good game.

I think that is all they have done TBH good marketing.

Anyway why are people so spoiled as to how unfair it is to get a freebie. Its a free thing, its a bonus! Remember back in they day when you had to wait till a game came out to play it :rolleyes:
 
Indeed, people are going on as if it's something new to get a freebie. The retailer giving this beta is giving away freebies on a hell of a lot of it's Xbox360 titles as incentives. Thats all they are, incentives.

I do however remember buying Zone of the Enders for the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo, £40 it cost me. I ended up finding ZoE a better title than MGS2 anyway.
