As per thread title,

My Sapphire 256mb X1950XT is driving me nuts. It's the noisest component in my rig and it ramps the speed up when I open FireFox for example

Also my idle temps are 60 degrees which isn't good and it's at 81 on full load!

Now the contenders are below:

Zalman VF900-CU LED Quiet Dual Heatpipe with Blue LED - £24
Accelero X2 - £16
Sytrin KuFormula VF1 (Not sure the fan would fit in my wavemaster? Anyone?) - £22

Leaning towards the VF900 atm, has lots of positive reviews, also I'm ordering from a shop that has it in stock, so would save on shipping.

Open to suggestions/opinions/thoughts of these or any other coolers around this budget.

Thanks :)

Reseat the stock HSF with AS5 and have a 120mm case fan blowing over it :) My x1800XT never goes above 65c even when overclocked.

/off topic

Any chance you can let me into your secret for clocking the X1800XT as I just can't get ATI Tool ot Tray tools to work, so I'm stuck with Overdrive at 688/675.

Nah thats the heat sink size ;)
I know :o :p

It's just the wavemaster is really tight on space. I'm suprised at OcUK's shipping charge, expected it to be a lot more :)

From my understanding this card is for 92mm, do you have to hack it to get a 120mm one on?

You may beable to bend the clips a tad to fit a 120mm fan on, failing that you may beable to use a converter 120mm>92mm funnel :)

Does it actually cool that much better than stock though? I thought it didn't do that great a job.
It does a lot better than the stock cooler assuming that the stock cooler is left on default fan settings, and not "noisy forced to above 60%" settings. My VF900-Cu dropped my X1900XT temps from 75-80ºC to 59-64ºC. :)
